    Fellers,

I just popped my tape of "Tyson" from 1995 HBO into the VCR for review...

    I love this HBO film...

Michael Jai White & George C. Scott were great as "Tyson & D'Amato."

Who else likes this film and thinks is was done pretty well for the time???

Definitely a great film, and quite a good look on the turmoil going on in Mikes mind at a time where most were only judgmental

Not a terrible film. Michael Jai White kind of sucks but he's cool in an action hero sense.

I thought Rooney was a bit over the top but I haven't seen it in a while so my memorys kind of hazy.

I thought it was terrible and what sticks out the most to me is how they portrayed Mike and Desiree at the end... Him taking her into the hotel and eying her down while licking his lips, while she questions whether or not she should go in seeming all innocent and weary of his intentions, but being coaxed into going into the hotel. Very cheesy and not at all how it went down.

There was a very detailed report of that night going into the hotel and what went on in the hotel. No way do I believe that he raped her, as the detail described she went to the bathroom, took out her panty liner, freshened up her box, and came out where they performed standing 69 before he plowed her skank ass.

They wanted to portray her as this innocent girl and Mike as a predatory ******, which I do not believe to be the case given her prior history.

Michael Jai trying to do the lisp was annoying, and he also has a long neck, so it just looked funny trying to see him portray Tyson. Cliff Couser, who claims to be Tyson's brother, would have been more appealing as the Tyson character, he of course played Tyson in the Don King drama.

One of my favorite boxing films. I agree that they made it look like Tyson raped what he refered to as "that wretched swine of a woman." It's obvious that the filmmakers thought he was guilty. Other than that, the film was perfect.

Tyson was rail-roaded in Indiana in his case against Desiree Washington, but he was also a fool to **** around like a gangsta' rapper in that state, too.... Had he been in L.A. or Harlem, he'd have gotten off the hook.... Tyson just swung his **** at the wrong bee-yatch in the wrong state.... Plus, Tyson was off-beat with lawyer Vincent Fuller who was not a true criminal defense lawyer..... Fuller was more so a legal business lawyer..... WTF was that all about????
