Sam Langford is obviously king of this.

Maidana is a good contemporary choice. Don't know if he's the best active choice, just came to mind.

Start with a Joe Louis book. Surprisingly, it all comes quick after that (quick as in several hours per day [per week if you have a life other than boxing, collecting knowledge] of research by yourself in your personal time; it's the only way to do it!).

two great ones..... today I would say Lucas Matthyese..... Andre Dirrell (although he's a punk)..... Adrien Broner....... Chris Arreola...... Erislandy Lara... Peter Manfredo Junior and SAKIO BIKA!!!!!!!!

Abner Mares would have been the choice if he didn't just win the bantamweight belt.. and in a dirty fashion i might add and I think Maidana actually has a belt.. not sure what type though...??

BUT.. its pretty hard to name anyone today because titles are sent to guys through email copy paste and print.. just for joining a promoter:patsch:patsch:patsch

TS said not counting interims, supers, diamonds, etc.

So no, Maidana has no belt and never has. He has been the "interim WBA champ."

i think the peterson brothers might be considered this. ali funeka always seems to be a hard luck boxer.
