At the end of the day, still waiting to see why we all don't understand how good Froch's defence is? Maybe back up your statements with analysis?

 

Rios destroys him. The Mitchell that fought Murray was the same as the one that fought Katsidis. People impressed by the KO and win have somehow seen some "improvements" in Kevin. Murray did give Kevin problems and won a few rounds. Kevin still gets caught on the ropes. The difference is that Murray was a featherfist and doesn't have the footwork and offensive arsenal of the better fighters in LW.

As said before in this thread, if Acosta (who is much much better than Mitchell) couldn't get the job done, then Mitchell won't get it done either.

but that was an actual tactical ploy in the murray fight. agaisnt katsidis he was forced onto the ropes.

Froch slips allot of shots. He rarley gets hit clean despite have his hands low.

Just watching the Acosta -Rios fight, Rios is getting caught bigtime, but credit hes got a tough chin and has a good punch and good durability.

 

no. but having murray fight at a fast pace early was. look at what mitchell was doing when he has on the ropes, rolled with the punches, got himself out of there quickly at times. showed allot of good ability. all stuff he worked on.

 

Yeah, Acosta was kicking Rios’ ass for the first five rounds. But Rios was always doing stuff to wear his man down. Imagine Acosta versus Murray. It would have been over in three rounds and Murray would have barely landed.

 

Mitchell would do well to last past the 6th IMO.

 

Murray fought the same pace he always does. I honestly think you and a few others just see what you want to see. It was a great, competitive fight because of both mens' flaws.

Mitchell wasn't great on the ropes, he still leant into certain punches, but was favoured by Murray's own lack of accuracy. But if that was Katsidis in there he'd have knocked him out all over again. Mitchell was no different against Murray, it's just Murray wasn't anywhere near as good as Katsidis.

Hell, even with someone like Juan Diaz, Mitchell would have been stopped.

 

Acosta also burned himself out, but if Acosta can catch Rios so easily Mitchell can too. I think Mitchell will try to preserve his energy better, if pushed on the ropes hold more rather than engage and try to turn rios more and counter and get out of there and keep jabbing! Thats the plan id go with. But yeah Rios looks strong has grit and durability and can punch, just his defence i question.

 

Acosta is a lot better than Mitchell though. What can Kevin actually do to keep Rios off? Turning him won't do **** because Rios actually jabs with some authority.

 

Difference between Mitchell and Acosta is night and day; just by using my eyes I can see that!
