This time next week, after The Ring has updated their Heavyweight rankings following the Povetkin-Chagaev and Helenius-Liakhovic fights.

    The Current Rankings are:
    Champ: Wlad
    1. Vitali
    2. Adamek
    3. Povetkin
    4. Haye
    5. Chagaev
    6. Chambers
    7. Dimitrenko
    8. Boystov
    9. Helenius
    10. Arreola

My prediction. Povetkin gets a comfortable UD over a Chagaev who will appear to be past it. And Helenius will dominate and KO his foe by mid-late round stoppage.

Therefore, I don't think Povetkin will move above Adamek just yet, I think Chagaev will drop out of the rankings. I could see Helenius jumping up a couple of places and Tony Thompson re-entering the rankings, therefore:

    The Current Rankings are:
    Champ: Wlad
    1. Vitali
    2. Adamek
    3. Povetkin
    4. Haye
    5. Chambers
    6. Helenius
    7. Dimitrenko
    8. Boystov
    9. Arreola
    10. Thompson

Lets see if anyone can get it spot on!

Make's me sick to see the name "Haye" up there with real fighters!

Lets not turn this into a Haye bashing session. There are plenty of other threads for that.

  5. Agree with your list. If we dont see any surprises

Povetkin and Helenius could become good challengers for the Klitschkos with a spectacular performance this saturday.

    Boytsov is hopefully following soon.

    Adamek/Povetkin/Helenius/Boytsov

    Good fights for the Klitschkos.

    Wlad
    Vitaly
    Helenius
    Povetkin
    Adamek
    Haye

Put any combination of Chambers, Thompson, Arreola, Fury, Boytsov in any order.

Well if Povetkin wins, and definitely if he wins impressively he should move above Adamek at that point since he did just beat another top 5 guy and Adamek has yet to. And considering on how badly Chagaev loses will determine if he falls to 10 or all the way out of the rankings. Since I think it will go the distance I say this:

    Champ: Wlad
    1. Vitali
    2. Povetkin
    3. adamek
    4. Haye
    5. Chambers
    6. Helenius
    7. Dimitrenko
    8. Boystov
    9. Arreola
    10. Chagaev

Not saying I agree with that exact order but that's what I think the Ring ratings will be

and again if Chagaev gets blown out or KO then he might be out and Thompson would be the most likely name to enter.

So you think this time next week Helenius will move above Adamek and Povetkin and from 9th to 2nd based on a win over someone he's expected to beat comfortably? And Fury and Thompson will enter the rankings even though neither have a fight and Dimitrenko is gonna depart even though he doesn't have a fight?

I would say Povetkin deserves to be moved ahead of Tomasz Adamek as Adamek's best heavyweight victim (Arreola) woldn't have the resume of Chagaev.

However The Ring are sometimes a bit stingy about moving people up in rankings and I think they will wait until Adamek loses to Vitali before demoating him
