And worse yet, he became painfully slow after that fight, too. I mean there was no slow and steady decline in Golota. He looked good against Byrd and Ruiz and then he just deteriorated rapidly.

As I stated on the show, there was a good stretch of time where I believe Golota would have beaten Evander, but if they fought now Holyfield would school him badly. Evander's decline, while evident, has been slow and steady in most areas of his game, speed in particular. Golota just seemed to have a whole deck of cards fold on him at once.

So do I. There are absolutely NO guarantees when it comes to Golota at this point.

The last fight needs to be something like Golota-Bates 2. A higher caliber fighter will simply **** on the farewell party and knock him out.

Let´s not beat around the bush. Bowe-Golota III would be a perfect fit here. I hear Riddick is looking for a dime these days and this fight would sell well in Poland.

Yep, you're dead on about how slow Golota got.

The timeline goes something like this:

Early 90s thru 1999-Golota's prime. Fast, decent defense, athletic, very good chin, great leg work etc. He was a beast!

2000-post car accident, jab not looking the same. Still fairly quick and athletic, but clearly not the same animal he was when trained by Bloodworth and Duva. Still has a really good chin (as shown in the Tyson fight).

2003 thru 2004-clearly past his prime, but still fairly quick for a guy in his mid 30s. Chin is still looked good.

2005-Blasted out of the water in less than a minute by Brewster. First time Golota had ever been flattened by one punch.

2007-Looked REALLY slow vs Bates and McBride. Chin not looking so good either as McBride hurt him early.

2008-Did surprisingly well against Mollo. But looked way slooooooooow. Austin flattened him in a whopping 2 seconds.

2009-Not surprisingly, A 41 year old version of Golota looked his worst ever against Adamek. Couldnt get his punches off, no chin, slow, over weight...just aweful.

If Golota decides to take a farewell fight, the only advantage I see him having is his left arm having plenty of time to fully heal (was supposedly still injured vs Adamek) and maybe he'll actually come to the ring in good shape, instead of fat like he was against Adamek.

But even then, he's all washed up and still runs the risk of embarrassing himself in his goodbye party.

I dont think it should happen, but its the only fight left for him that would make any sense. At least if he loses to Bowe, he lost to a once great fighter instead of losing to some scrub he was supposed to beat, spoiling the farewell party. Golota should pop one of Bowe's entourage members upside the head with a walkie talkie at some point as payback from fifteen years before.

Another thing Andy lost after the accident was his left hook. It was never the same.. very wide, slow, etc.

In the Ruiz fight you could see andy was losing his movement. At times he stood like a statue and took bombs. It's like his face was his defense.

Very true. Golota had a great left hook before the accident. He especially displayed this in the first Bowe fight. After the Grant quit job and then the car accident, that was the end of his prime. Compare how he looked against Grant in '99 and then Norris just a year later in 2000. Obviously he was no longer the same fighter.

It was frustrating to see that version of Golota fight Ruiz knowing how easily he would have schooled him had they fought five years before.
