His fan following is growing I never thought he'd be extremely popular after 2 consecutive big wins with Pavlik and Williams. Martinez I think is getting paid better than Chavez Jr so this deal about Sergio being a hermit nobody knows is bs. He's not as popular as Pacman or Floyd yet, but he's not a weak sell either.

I hate to agree with someone who is part of the ******* culture but its easy to argue that Martinez is overrated. People are giving him credit for looking great and forgetting he is looking great in a very weak division. I heard him compared to ATG MW's who would annihilate him and he has been mentioned as a P4P # 2 which is very premature. Maybe Pavlik is a damn mess who is completely finished and PW is rather average above 147? If that's the case Martinez might be little more than the best MW in a very weak division.

It just looks that way in hindsight since pw struggled with lara, martinez being an underdog in his fights with cintron, pavlik and pw x2 means he has better skills than people expected. He has earned his p4p ranking and nobody at middleweight or below beats him, does that mean he ko's hagler? of course not but he also isnt some weakling that fought easy fights recently. He is basically competing with donaire for the number 3 spot if floyd beats ortiz and since narvaez is a better opponent than barker he will most likely end up at number 4.
I would love to see a 24/7 and huge build up for a fight invloving sergio.

If he was promoted right from the start and not hiding out in Argentina he could be a huge star right now
