Would there though? If Burns fights Fana instead of his WBO mandatory he will be stripped. OK he would have the Ring title but Broner could then fight for then then vacant WBO title and have a belt of his own which would give Golden Boy more bargaining power when it came to negotiating a match-up (which would not be a foregone conculsion to happen as they would then have one of the 'big 4's' belts and could decide to feast on a diet of voluntaries ala ******!)

As a champion and Broner as the challenger, financially, wouldnt Burns/****** be in a better position?

 

IMO, Ring belt holds the most credibility. If Burns gave up the WBO to get the ring belt? Just makes his star bigger & brighter if you ask me.

I agree with you that the ring belt is more creditable than the 'big 4' and its rickys dream to own it - that is not up for debate in my eyes!

However, what I'm trying to say is though, even the ring rankings are flawed to an extent and up for debate. You are saying fight Fana then Broner - who says that Golden Boy would want the fight if Broner Won Ricky's vacant title if Ricky fought Fana for the ring title. Broner might move up in weight, the financial terms might be less for Ricky than they are now. There are several unknown factors that could come into play!

Hey who knows, ****** might have pulled a masterstroke which involves Burns fighting Fana first but have an already guaranteed fight against Broner after this which will make him a fortune!

As for my Burns fans credentials being questioned for having a different opinion than you, thats just a load of shite! I want rickster to be successful just as much as you do:good

They do, sadly enough. I moaned about the fact here ages ago when the takeover happened.

However, boxing is what it is now, & we have to live in the world the media masters create.

The Murdochs control football, Goldenboy boxing, us daft wee posters are but flies in the ointment. Boxing is on its last legs anyway, MMA is like the grey squirrel to the red, killing us off at an alarming rate.

 

I just hope he fights the Salgado-Mendez winner. Forget about Broner in that scenario.
