I know. Some of these guys need to watch the fighters before them comment on them. Contrary to popular opinion, Sam Peter is a very good boxer or he wouldn't have beaten Toney twice. It wasn't just power either as Peter was out jabbing Toney & beating him to the punch.
The technique he showed in that left hook was great. You have no idea what you're talking about, as usual. :deal
Exactly. He has potential because he's big & powerful & he has decent technique. He can be slow at times & also a slow starter but he's also shown a good chin so far. He could def. use some head movement though.
Peter lost the first fight to the fat, old, blown up (understatement) middleweight known as James "Lights out" Toney. And that was the best Samuel Peter. And that jab you say knocked down Toney was really a slip. Toney was off balance. Peter was a KO victim to both Klitschkos, he was dropped multiple times by McCline, he was outboxed by Chambers and Helenius basically took him out with one shot after getting outworked. Peter is not a good boxer, he has power but that is about it.
How was that 'the best' Peter? The Peter in the second fight, who weighed in almost 10lbs lighter and beat Toney convincingly, was a better version of himself then the first Peter/Toney fight. Let alone the one that showed up to fight Wlad. (who also weighed what... 14 or so lbs lighter then when he fought Toney the first time?) Also, peter did plenty of actual boxing in the second win over james toney. Him reverting to more boxing in the second fight, along with coming in better shape, is what contributed to him comfortably beating toney in the rematch. The peter that came to fight Wlad the first time was still the best Peter Ive seen.
Why would they, what would be the point? **** me, there must be some amount of people on here that suffer from schizophrenia. It's just constant paranoia with certain people on here.
He is not as advertised. Even his best asset (punching power) is displayed against shell shocked fighters, long past it. Tomorrow will be another prime example of this. They are being carefull with him by steering him clear of guys that would outpoint him.
Toney was horrible in the second fight. He was a shot fighter and he still managed to beat Peter in the first fight. Both of those wins don't do much to change my view of Peter. Even if I were to agree Peter had boxing ability, Helenius got to him after Peter was beaten by the Klits (KO'd), KD mulitple times against McCline, outboxed by Chambers, beaten by fat ol Toney. And Helenius wasn't beating Peter Convincingly until he KO'd him.
