It has been a save face half hearted challenge for a fight that is not viable which will develop into a fight with a lesser known opponent for some bull **** title.
Its funny...in the chat, green praised himself for bringing top brass fighters down here. His own promotional outfit has made him rich. He has never had a problem promoting his own fights in the past. Now all of a sudden, promoting is a head ache.
maybe because there is a shitload more at stake now, as he is coming off a bad loss. did u ever think of that huh?
i hope green get some sort of praise after hes retired, because the levels of dislike at the moment are very severe atm. He and mundine have both injected life into the sport like it or not. Perfect jet i think he might have realised that being in the limelight all the time and running his own promotions machine took away from his training and focus , time to get back to the basics and just focus on fighting , let somebody else worry about the numbers
Or maybe he doesnt want to promote a fight where he gets owned by the same guy again. Green dont want the fight, him not wanting to promote it and fight in perth is a big LOL.
Many years ago I liked Green. A short while after the Mandy bout, and up until the Tarver fight, I was starting to take a real dislike towards him. But since the Tarver beat down, I've grown to respect him a little more again. He's shown a fair amount of humility and hasn't really come up with any excuses. It seems Tarver was a reality check. I think he'll get more praise than he deserves once the dust has settled, and I don't mean that in a derogatory way. Whilst that's true, it's also true they injected a lot of **** into the sport. Like Rockys first fight with Clubber Lang. :hey Seriously though, there's probably a little bit of truth to what you're saying, but I think it has more to do with Tarver being a better fighter.
with his career potentially on the line he may not want to. he is not obliged to u know. don't know why anybody else would care whether he does or doesn't. it doesn't affect u in any way, lol.
it doesnt affect me, im just commenting on it. I suppose i should cut danny some slack.....promoting a card with tarvers foot still firmly entrenched in your arse would be kinda awkward.
He will come out with the excuses. He always does Green is a sore loser. He won't fight Tarver again which is a shame he will probably go back to calling out Mundine. I hope he does fight Tarver again. I can do my Karate Kid GET HIM A BODYBAG YEAAAAAAH cry again.
I give him praise as a solid fighter on the world stage but nothing special who won a belt at 175 from a very average champion which he never defended. The other interim or cruiser belts are just bogus though. He has had a similar career to Mundine although Mundine did beat him when both were around about their prime. Really I would expect Daniel Geale to have a similar success in his career although he won't earn the dollars or get the exposure of Mundine and Green. All in all Green was a solid fighter imo.
i agree completely, hes done extremely well for his quite limited skillset, i think he got fairly arrogant and started believing he was invincible and unbeatable, but it does seem he has come back down to earth a bit and settled down. I also agree about geale, hes a good solid fighter whilst not being spectacular, without the rivalry with somebody that green and mundine had to feed off of each other. And sox rocky 3 is exactly the comparison i had in my head but i didnt know whether to use it , im glad you did :good
