Runde 8

Averlant is hurling his long branches against Hein's sides, thudding and bouncing or sliding off while Hein tries to work some straight shots and shoulder his way into a lean-together. Nice uppercut by Averlant to break up a clinch attempt. Good combos upstairs, rocking Hein around behind his guard.

Runde 9

Hein keeps missing his 1-2, with Averlant stepping around him and whipping in long shots with only slightly better accuracy. Hein gets a good uppercut in while Averlant leans forward with his elbows tucked at his sides and gloves by his chin (split by the blow). Hein picks up the pace and starts hooking high at the taller man. Averlant pushes his head down and Hein works the body a bit. Averlant is dropping those reedy arms across Hein's back and getting his above and on the belt line. Hein lands a reaching combo of 3-4 straights on Averlant's face while chasing him into the ropes, but trips himself up and flips over on his butt.

Runde 10

Averlant is winging hard shots around the sides, blasting Hein and not getting answered back. Hein just shells up and takes it for a minute. Now Averlant seems to run out of steam and steps back to circle and block. Now Hein throws pairs of clapping body shots and falls in behind them, getting grabbed and pushed away. Now Averlant brings back the side-winding bombs. Hein stumbles down to his hands and knees while trying to grapple with Averlant, who "pulls the chair out from under him". Averlant flurries over the top of the shorter ducking man's head and then pushes down on it. Lots of clinching now. Resembling a prom slow dance. Body shots from Hein. Raindrops from Averlant.

 

Runde 11

Again Averlant has momentary success scything with lefts and rights. Hein is turned into a bobblehead as he plants his feet and gets rocked while blocking what he can. Averlant gets him on the ropes and slaps the **** out of him. Hein keeps pushing in trying to clinch or set up shop to work the body, but is getting smacked around relentlessly. Averlant opens up one more flurry atop his head and finally the referee intervenes.

So-so stoppage.

 

This was the last fight on the card before the heavyweight double header - which is airing live on Epix in forty minutes. (5pm EST)

So...there's now going to be a looooooong wait for both us and the people in the venue. :yep

 

Yeah, this was very much a technical knockout. It had nothing to do with Averlant having power.

It was just sheer volume of work, and Hein being totally fatigued.
