still, unbeaten with wins over byrd, chambers and chagaev. pov has probably the best resume outside of Wladimir and maybe Vitali.

since 08 Vitali has beaten peter, arreola, gomez plus some unranked guys. povetkin has beaten chambers, chagaev and byrd plus some unranked guys.

quite close actually between them two.

Helenius should KO Liakhovich around the 4th. Liakhovich looks very fat and like he just dosn't care about this fight. Just in it for the money.

But Vitali has ruthless dominance in all his fights since '08.

This "epic" shares broken lineage with:

    Holyfield-Tyson I & II
    Holyfield-Bowe I & II
    Holyfield-Lewis I & II
    Holyfield-Ruiz I, II & III
    Holyfield-Moorer I & II
    Holyfield-Valuev
    Holyfield-Bean
    Holyfield-Holmes
    Holyfield-Cooper
    Holyfield-Foreman
    Holyfield-Douglas
    The FOTC
    The Thrilla In Manilla

...and many others featuring the likes of Ali, Tyson, Foreman, Frazier etc.

No wonder Holyfield is an interested party. That's HIS belt, having vied for it more times than anyone else in history by far.

he needs to get busy again and get back into tip top shape.

    at the moment he's neither.

the injury and inactivity has really halted his progress.

which was going nicely around 2009.

    Finally I'm on board.

I'm glad because personally Sergei vs Robert is the fight I wanted to see.

Johnson, Sosnowski, Briggs, Solis are head and shoulders above the likes of Firtha, Mora, Nolan, Oruh. They're top 3 are quite close like you said.

Befuddling lack of activity from Chagaev in this fight. Either he wasn't motivated to give it 100% for some reason or he's declined physically, and is thus past it. Another cash-out fight against Helenius or Pulev might be next on the menu for Chagaev.

Credit to Povetkin for his movement and activity though--not an easy target.

Atlas made an utter ass of himself--the Youtube tributes to this fight will be hilarious.l
