He wasn't staggering about when he got up.

But i admit he probably wouldn't have made it out of the round... how much time was left?

I suspect that both guys would be able to handle the others power and it would turn into a blood and guts classic. Both guys are with Main Events promotions though so i doubt we'll see it. Liakhovich Boytsov would be a good fight and test for Denis.

Helenius-Wach is a even robotic snoozefest until Helenius sparks him.

Fury outboxes Helenius, but then gets caught by a huge bomb & stopped.

Not to toot my own horn, but this card would be amazing the more I think about it.

how bout helenius or povetkin vs haye

or vs dimitrenko get povetkin in with a tall guy who resembles the klits and helenius in with a guy who can match his size

helenius could cut some fat by beating young undefeateds like charr or fury or even a guy like stiverne

I had him winning by at least 5 rounds prior to the KO. Helenius impressed me greatly during this fight. Prior to this I thought he really had to work on his foot work and stamina badly. Tonight I have seen massive improvements in his stamina, his foot work still needs a lot of work. He has lost the a lot of the fat around his belly, lets hope he's taking it seriously now.

Tbh I think I might just have to say that Helenius right now is the best finisher in boxing, forget about his first 10 fights or so, just have a look at his last 5 fights. Koing 3 ex World champs as well as European champs flat out cold.

Still only 15 fights under his belt, but make no mistake about it, Helenius has made massive strides today. As I have said along I still want to see him pad his record against decent opposition prior to facing a Klitschko. Right now I don't fancy him against a technical fighter like Chambers, Povetkin or Adamek.
So I would like to see him pad his record against decent, busy, stepping stone fighters like Chagaev, Timur, Haye and Mormeck.

Once this chap has 20 fights under his belts he will be very. very dangerous. Dare I say it, is he the best finisher is the business? I think he just might might be, I thnk so.

Helenius vs. Povetkin is more of a pure boxer vs. puncher match-up. Haye's speed-brawling wouldn't gel quite as well with either of them, IMO. He'd lose most rounds to Povetkin (except maybe in the UK) and would either be KTFO by Helenius or pull the same ugly survivalist **** he did against Wladimir.

Dimitrenko looked like unwiped ass against Soz.

I like those last few shouts for Helenius, though. Those would be opportunities to improve both his resume/ranking and his boxing brains without too much risk.

Still, Helenius vs. Povetkin would only be the 2nd most interesting match-up on that proposed card of mine (even though it would be the title bout and main event).

Liakhovich is closer to Adamek's own size than the giants he's been beating and the one he's about to lose to. They both have good boxing skills and have benefited from absorbing a trick or two from everyone they've shared the ring with like sponges. Speed, power, cheen - everything about them is comparable. Very even match-up and would be beautiful to watch.

    Which one? :think

Nah, you're probably OK with just a five minute HL package of Povetkin-Chagaev...and for Helenius-Liakhovich, watch any round from 1-7 to get the general idea of how Sergei was schooling him, and then watch the end of the 8th and the KO at the start of the 9th.

Neither was FOTY or anything. Liakhovich and Povetkin put on much better performances than expected, but Chagaev and Helenius both sucked donkey balls but for a handful of rounds between them.

No chance, I had a sneaky small bet on the draw and was giving Liakhovich every round I could. No way did Liakhovich win more than 2 rounds. Helenius was well up o the cards before than knock down and the Ko.

Helenius got power but he needs to improve on his workrate.
