As for Pairol's case I found this note ...

After hearing the details of the case, commissioner Francisco Aguilar echoed Lundvall's concerns.

"I think going forward, we need to increase the penalties for fighters," Aguilar said. "I think this commission has given them proper notice at this point to say, 'This is not going to be taken lightly anymore. This is a serious issue.'"

The NSAC governs all combat sports in Nevada, including boxing and MMA.

Diuretics increase the excretion of water from bodies. In medicine, diuretics can be used to treat heart failure, liver cirrhosis, hypertension and certain kidney diseases. For an athlete struggling to cut weight, the benefit is obvious.

Pairol claimed he was on weight two weeks prior to he bout and used the furosemide to treat pain in his kidneys.

While no formal direction was issued on how future incidents will be handled, Lundvall recommended all new infractions should result in a mandatory 12-month suspension and a fine of up to one-half of the fighter's purse.

"My thought process is that it looks like the past three (hearings) that we've done, we've ranged between eight and nine months for the suspension," Lundvall said. "That's something that moving forward at this point in time, I'd like to give serious consideration to future suspensions being 12 months and the penalty would be up to 50 percent."

Pairol was ultimately fined $200 of his $600 purse, which did not include a win bonus, and suspended nine months from the date of his bout. The result of his win was also overturned to a no contest. Pairol will also e required to provide a clean drug test before he receives another license to fight in Nevada.

    WOW!!! :scaredas:

This kid Socarras really has some serious knockout power!!! Not only that but I was also surprised on how smooth, patient and skilled he is. Seems Socarras at only 18 years old is Cuba's youngest Gem! And yes, he also seems very humble. Thanks for the video Garf! ;)

I saw Pedro Rodriguez sparring yesterday. It was really, really insane. You said it yourself "throwing so many punches" ! ! ! He sparred the kid in this video that's wearing the blue: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E7Nc1fkZQU[/ame] You watch that and see that kid throws a crazy amount of punches too. That kid and Pedro had the whole gym going ape****. I'm talking toe to toe, after Round 2 both headgears came off lol. After 3 Rounds the Amateur Kid was exhausted and had to get outta there but it was about the best 3 Rounds I've ever witnessed lol. . . . . . . . . . As for the long lay off, after Pedro's last fight he took too long of a break from training and blew up in weight his Promoter Henry told him straight up I can't give you a fight until you get back into shape. Pedro's working on it though he's been going at it pretty hard the past month or so. The next Dream Team show is scheduled for October I'm pretty sure they'll have Pedro on it.

Yes i noticed his weight been from 178 to 194 in his last fight.
Back in Cuba Rodriguez was one of the best light heavies. If he could get down to 175
his chances to get to the big fights would increase.

Even with his soft midsection he has his cardio is still really good. He outhustles all of his opponents. That's how he beat Dobie. Dobie had a way better physique than Pedro but Pedro was just relentless with the pressure. Just threw and threw until his opponent dropped. Just yesterday he ate some pretty nice shots but his pressure is nonstop the other guy had to get out after 3. I've seen him a few times outwork people who physically look like they are in way better shape than him. I know for sure 8 Rounds is nothing to him. If Pedro could just sculpt his body better I'd imagine he'd be able to go all day. He'd be very marketable on the big screen. His style wears opponents out I think his only goal in a fight is to throw as many punches as he can lol.

You don't need to b MR. Universe to b in shape, muscles need more oxygen, so in boxing you have to b careful how much of muscle you put on.

Yeah but he definitely needs to be in better shape than he is now. I think he was just right when he fought Dobey (I misspelled it in my previous post as Dobie.) I'm pretty confident he'll do good in the Pro's though no matter how his body looks he's just straight up gifted
