Haye is boring. If the UK wants a crack at the WBA I would rather see Fury in there. At least he fights to win and gives the fans their monies worth.

He's technically solid, good power, puts his punches together well enough, decent all rounder but basic and not very athletic. Not a threat to the Klits and I think he knows it

Povetkin can make as many title defenses as Lord Teddy desires!

Poor Povetkin knows he has no chance against neither klit and there should be a superheavyweight division.
The thing is he is nowhere near as talented as Ibragimov , Haye , McCall , Brewster , Byrd and Norris , nor as Tyson and Holyfield , just to name some of the examples of successful heavies/cruisers whom were successful or at least had the balls to compete vs superheavies

He's not even the real WBA champion, he's the "regular" champion. Wlad's the real WBA champ.

The Klitschkos are simply way too good for Povetkin.

However, there are plenty of tall superheavys Povetkin could beat... Dimitrenko, Fury, Helenius, Grant, Wach etc.

He will not be remembered very fondly as a title holder. There's no way he should hold a belt right now, but that's the way it is in today's boxing. Just when you were barely getting used to having 4 different champions, they bring out this concept of "regular" and "super" champion. It's ridiculous.

The WBA has disgraced itself constantly with their treatment of the WBA heavyweight title.

    I agree with this.

He is not an alphabet champion, because the WBA organisation does not even recongnise him as the best fighter in the world. They Recognise Wlad as the World Champion. His title is just a no 1 contenders title. For this reason, i see his reign at the moment as worse than any other alphabet reign (maybe even including the IBU and such forth) because he is not recognised as the world champion by anyone. I think he needs to "unify" with someone before he can even be called an alphabet title holder.

He is just another contender. He's no more a World champion than my Nan.

He will defend his fake belt against Holyfield in minimalist fashion for some dough, getting a points victory in a fight where neither man is hurt.

Hopefully, he'll man up and finally fight Wlad after an easy payday or two.

Shame he will not live up to his potential. I am afraid that both Povetkin and Chagaev could have been in better condition. Just look at the breathing in rounds 8-12 and compare them with fighters like Ali-Frazier in the 11-15th rounds or Marciano - Walcott in the 11-13 rds. Big difference, I think that even though both men are 6"1 to 6"2 they could both do a lot more cardio and should be at least 15-20 lbs lighter or fitter. I would like to see Alex at about 215 or so and Chagaev is pudgy. It was a good fight but I think better overall fitness would have made for a better fight

To me, Sultan Ibragimov would have beaten either one of them.
