Im from the UK so im usually pretty impartial when it comes to a bout between two american fighters, but after seeing the contrast of stories between these two, with ortiz being abandoned and growing up in a caravan park to mayweathers childhood or tutelage from professional boxers. it would be a great story if ortiz pulled it off. mayweather is great!, but he knows himself the way he talks makes him immediately unlikeable. calling himself "money" mayweather is no way to endear himself to the fans.

if ortiz pulls it off it would not only be a fairy tail story of rags to riches, but it might give mayweather a bit of perspective on his own career. force him to fight for his reputation and take a few risks. rather than walking around like some kind of unbeatable god like figure!

**** you! i like fighters like ali, frazier, robinson, hagler, degale, brook, dirrell, ect.

disliking floyd can be for many reasons and race has **** all to do with it. please don't think that. floyd calls him self "money", he beats women, he's easily the most arrogant fighter in the world.... i could go on!!

ortiz was abandoned by him mother left to fend for himself, been through losses in his career and now he's at the point to vindicate himself. i just hope he can!

Dreams are good and now you and Ortiz share one. Nothing wrong in that.
And sure it would be a great rags to riches story if Ortiz would win, but no. This is a fight that Ortiz won´t win.

he needs it! if he keeps winning he'll retire with an unbeaten record full of ok but realistically cherry picked opponents. if he loses you might see him fight for something other than his record and cash!

ortiz is a knockout machine!, he's young and probably as hungry as a fighter can get! don't be so sure!

ok so a fighter who has knocked down nearly every opponent in the first 4 rounds isn't a knock out machine!

if you think this fight isn't dangerous for floyd in the first few rounds then your a fool!

I humbly disagree. Whilst Vicious Victor's story was quite touching it should be the case that an elite athlete with unparalled natural ability and undergoing elite training should aways be the winner. Anything less sends a confused message.

"Money" Mayweather is nothing more than a scripted character, and 24/7 is his primetime show.He has been doing this for years, fighting lesser skilled opponents and playing the bad guy role, staying undefeated and making tons of money off of it.

I too hope Ortiz wins, but its best not to take the bait or get high on the hype, just sit back and enjoy the show and hopefully this time around it has a surprise ending.

yeah i agree wholeheartedly! that's why i'm not one to jump on the "i hate mayweather" bandwagon. i understand his bravado is all for show. makes money from people tuning in to see him lose. that's where he gets his motivation from. im sure he feeds off the hate.

the thing is i never really care that much either way whether he loses or not. (aprt from the hatton fight) but this time i think ortiz deserves the win a lot more. his circumstances with his childhood and recent career just makes me get behind him 100%.

also i don't see this fight as a foregone conclusion. ortiz imo is the most dangerous fighter floyd has faced since de la hoya! we'll see if floyds skill and experience can keep off ortiz's youth and power, will be interesting!

Im kind of stuck, I want floyd to win because his zero belongs to pac and it would annoy me if someone else takes it away first, but on the other hand I feel sorry for Ortiz and would like to see him do well in boxing.

im sure thats the case with some people. but if thats true why would I support:

    degale against groves.
    dirrell against abraham.
chisora when he was going to fight klitschko.
brook against any white guy he's ever fought.
    taylor against abraham.
gamboa against lopez if they fought.
    taylor against pavlik.

if i have a bias its towards broitish fighters which is natural. those british fighters include indian, white, black, even yemeni. i don't really care what race you are.

i probably couldt say the same about you though. im sure you root fopr a black guy over a white guy every time.

I dislike floyd and I don't care who takes his zero... Sooner rather than later so Ortiz will get my full support.
