He'll probably end up fighting Devon Alexander at 147 who is now ranked #2 by the WBC.

i would just let greenburg answer your post.

HBO Sports President Ross Greenburg, meanwhile, remains optimistic on the chances of putting up the megabuck showdown between the sport’s top pound-for-pound fighters.

"We had two attempts at Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao and clearly, that was a fight that, if it could have been made, would have hit mainstream America hard. I mean, we were right on the cusp of something really special happening, and I'll tell you that I'm not giving up on it," Greenburg reveals.

However, Greenburg admits that he remains puzzled as to why Mayweather decided to take a rest from boxing at such a very opportune time.
“To this day, I don’t know why he wanted to take some time off,” says Greenburg, who Arum notes as the one who was directly negotiating with Mayweather for the fight with Pacquiao.

“Both times, the fight was very close to being made. And, the second time around, all that I can say is that you would have to ask Floyd Mayweather, Jr. why the fight wasn’t made,” Greenburg tells, as quoted by Satterfield. To this day, I really don’t know why he decided that he didn’t want to fight anymore in the fall.”

Still, Greenburg, just like all the other boxing fans all over the world, is keeping his fingers crossed that they could finalize the deal that will make the decade’s most explosive boxing event a reality.

If Pacquiao genuinely agrees to the test and goes into the negotiating room stating so, then it'll be Pac no doubt. I believe the fight will get made

I was disappointed then, but we come to find out later that it was over the tests again.
If Manny agrees this time foreal and Floyd decided to go on a vacation, then well ****. You can take away my title of "*****"

That's one reason why at first I was kinda disappointed, but back then I still had the feeling Floyd was going to come and fight Manny after a few months and the fight would have happened in place of the Mosley fight, but his legal troubles got in the way.
I also understood where he was coming from a little since he got a career high payday and it seemed like they were trying to rush him into another fight.

But this time if he goes on vacation, it'll be BS since he has all this time to rest

Unfortunately this is pretty much how it is gonna play out. :-(

You make absolutely no sense. The way you have it explained Greenburg would never have said the fight was "so close to being made". And he would not blame Floyd for walking away from the fight. You just like to twist **** to defend Floyd. I guess that's the only way to actually defend Floyd.
