This simply isn't true. Why do Calzaghe fans constantly repeat this lie?

Kessler had the same amount of fights in the same time period prior to Ward as he did prior to Calzaghe. After losing to Calzaghe his next fight was only seven months later. He fought Froch just five months after the Ward fight.

It was only after the Froch fight that Kessler had a period of inactivity.

Look, Kessler is a good fighter, but he has been overrated simply because he is one one of Calzaghe's best wins.

Kessler lost to Ward for the same reason he lost to Calzaghe. Calzaghe and Ward are both better fighters.

In the two year period since his fight against Calzaghe, Kessler had a total of 19 rounds over 3 fights

The two year period prior his fight against Calzaghe, Kessler had a total of 37 rounds over 4 fights.

The difference in opposition was also huge, with Kessler facing Mundine, Beyer, Andrade who were all Ring Top 10 at the time he faced them, Beyer being a title holder and Mundine being ranked Ring Top 3 at the time.

You can't tell me Kessler was as active prior to Ward as he was with Calzaghe.

This point here is a little stupid, being it took him 40 fights to get his first loss, the fact that he's only ever lost twice and both times to guys who have been seen as the best of their division by the Ring ratings.

He's unified the belts, he's regained his title after losing it. He's defeated undefeated fighters throughout and he also defeated an undefeated champion to get his title belt back.

The guy is if anything, underrated due to his performance against Ward. I remember at the time Kessler faced Calzaghe, people were trying to argue that Kessler had a better resume at the time than Calzaghe did, which was utter bollocks but even so.

If Ward gets past Froch, you can believe Kessler will be wanting to fight him and if Kessler finds his jab and distance again, I believe he will be too good for Ward. It's all If's - if Kessler can't work his feetwork like he did against Andrade and parts of Calzaghe and also doesn't use his jab to set up his options, he gets beaten again.

As for Ward vs Froch, hard fight to call because it all depends on Ward. If Ward tries to fight Froch like he did Kessler, I believe Ward goes down because Froch will rough house him, make it untenable and draw blood with his own head

If Ward decides to fight from the outside, uses angles and distance then I believe he beats Froch similar to how Kessler won their exchanges from the outside.

Your continuous attempt to validate Kessler beating Ward based on "if" he finds his jab, "if" he controls distance, "if" he doesn't have eye problems, its all bs, Ward won that first and would more than likely win a rematch simply because he's the better boxer...

Ward being the better fighter and being able to adapt and employ different strategies was able to negate Kessler's jab and Andre superior skill-set is what allowed him to control the distance and his better ring IQ and talent of being able to fight mid-range, long-range and inside will always enable him to trump Kessler in a fight...

Styles make fights as-well, so when he fought Froch Mikkel was able to exercise his strengths such as the jab and distance, this is because Froch doesn't have the defensive skill-set as Ward, or the weapons that Ward have, this is why Mikkel was able to edge Froch but loose badly to Ward...

It wasn't because Mikkel couldn't land the jab or control distance with Andre, it was because Ward being a better fighter did the necessary things to deprive Kessler of his best attributes...

Also there is no room for Kessler's "eye" excuses, simply because this is boxing, a dangerous sport and to go into a title fight with something as extreme as eye problems is risky and idiotic and I doubt, don't believe Mikkel eye issues were serious and possibly non-existent, so I beg you stop with the excuses, Kessler got his ass kicked because Ward was better that day and any day...

If you think any version of Kessler handles Ward your an idiot.

Just to reiterate, you are an idiot.

Now Calzaghe fans spend their time scrambling around propping up other fighters. I'm waiting for your Jeff Lacy ATG thread.

Kessler's resume was better than Calzaghe's before they fought. No one will pay to see Ward badly beat Kessler again. Your thoughts on Froch Ward are laughable considering Froch cannot fight on the inside.
