That combo is anything but slow. Once he commits and let's his hands go things speed up a lot. He's got the footwork of Ramses II but no one in today's HW division closes the show like him.
Helenius' attitude is going to take him a long way. Completely positive. A joy to watch. No fear. Totally relaxed. And who has seen a better killer instinct?
:good Totally agree, cant believe the crap hes getting on here :huh, **** sake he will if he does fight a K bros give it a good go imo, and if he does connect for me he has a chance. Yes he needs to improve and get fitter, but damn the power is really brutal, hes just really heavy handed
With all due respect, Sergei was kiicking the **** outta Helenius with some very nice offensive work in the early rounds. He beat Helenius to the punch but it was lapses in his defense that let him down. Sergei was gassed so early because he had his nose broken in 2 or 3 places and he couldn't breathe.
That's pretty much it. He looks practically disinterested & sluggish for round after round, then suddenly he turns into a boxer for 30 seconds. It's hard to even judge the guy, because his real fighting comes in such short spurts, though I'd now rank Helenius ahead of Povetkin. - but if he pulled that slow-start routine against a really good fighter, he wouldn't last 3 rounds. I wonder if early-round aggression can be taught?
Still dont understand how somebody says that Sergei was kicking his ass before the KO. He didnt hurt Helenius. Sergeis face was a mess and nose broken after few rounds. Helenius face was normal.
I had Sergei up by 1 round...but many of the rounds were close, so I could see it even, or Sergei up by 2, or even Helenius up by 1. I kept thinking throughout the fight that if Sergei was just a little more active, he'd really be ahead by a large margin. This is why I'd love to see Arreola vs Helenius...to see how he deals with Arreola.
I was also thinking mid-fight Sergei might have been able to pull it out but he started slowing down and catching those heavy bombs. Great effort and much respect to Helenius. It's fun having him in the HW division.
He didn't have a single bruise in his face after the fight and when the fight was stopped he wasn't tired at all. Helenius called his iactivity in the first rounds tactical resting.
