I think Mosley had a longer inactivity prior to PBF vs SSM because Berto pulled out near the fight which can be argued into two things that Mosley is inactive on the ring for too long or over trained.

I agree, weight was a big factor in that fight! To say otherwise is a blind idolatry of the cheater!

i disagree with those saying floyd never imposed himself physically. floyd admitted to have tried knocking out jmm but jmm was a tough customer. it's impossible for the extra weight not to have had any effect. i'm sure each punch took it's toll. not to mention how new jmm was to that weight and had to come up in only about two months time. floyd just couldn't finish jmm off, he simply wasn't throwing enough because jmm was still smart at firing back.

We saw the impact cheating a few lbs on the scale had on Castillo-Corrales rematch. Those guys were the same size. Mayweather was two divisions above Marquez as it was. The win is null and void.

There shouldn't even be a debate. The catchweight was there to entice Marquez into the fight. Would Marquez have taken the fight at 147, or 146? Doubtful, or else that would've been the initial weight as Mayweather was the one in control of negotiations.

Marquez was always going to come in bloated jumping 2 weight divisions so quickly, which was inevitably going to slow him down. Mayweather was supposed to lose a few lbs and to come in a little weaker to even out what Marquez was giving away a little.

But no, Floyd wanted to fight a little man, and keep every possible advantage, and then some having a lightweight Marquez prepare for a fight at 144 only to have it changed to 146 at the last minute. He cheated Marquez, assuring he held every significant advantage over a much smaller guy and he should get no credit.

Floyd had the physical advantage, everyone there is....

Height, reach, weight, and add quickness and speed to that.

Now you're clueless to say Mayweather outclassed Marquez with boxing skill.......tell me this, if you think Mayweather outboxed Marquez with pure skill, forget about the height and reach, give that to Mayweather, but how do you figure the fight plays out if it were Marquez who held the quickness, speed, and strenghth advantage???????

I figure both Mayweather and Marquez to be at the same level of skill when it comes to actual boxing, but you give Marquez the quickness, speed and strenghth advantage over Mayweather and we pretty much are looking at a runaway victory in favor of Marquez.

Skill was the least of the deciding factors, it was all of the physical advantages Mayweather had over Marquez that led to his victory.......you turn the tables and give Marquez just some of those physical advantages and the fight is a whole different ballgame.

i like jmm's offense better than floyd's, the way he puts punches together. if he had all the physical advantages that floyd has, it'll be tough for anyone to beat him.

The only point I was making is to point to the many Bozo's who are of the belief that Mayweather's boxing skill "outclassed" Marquez.:nut

You take any two fighters with a similar level of boxing skill, and have just one of them have every physical advantage, it really does'nt take a boxing mind to figure out who's going to win a matchup between the fighters.

Minus the cheating in weight, I still think Mayweather was outstanding in his win against Marquez. He was just too slick for Marquez and obviously the better boxer of the two. Hence, it would really be a blowout if Floyd and Pacman finally square it off inside the ring. The boxer in Floyd vs the fighter in Manny - who wins?

No more fingerpointing, guys, who's at fault. 'Never helps in making the fight from happening.

floyd and jmm aint similar on the level of boxing skill. not even close. flyd> jmm all day. which is why i understand that the weight thing was a huge detraction but i believe floyd beats him handedly at any weight.

:goodAgree on this! Floyd was way better than JMM. But between Floyd and Pacman in their current status, I'd pick Pacman over Floyd.:yep

You're going to tell me that if the physical advantages were reversed, Mayweather still beats Marquez???

This was a simple case of A Good Man beats a Good Little Man.

Anyone dismissing JMM's chances had the playing field been a little more leveled is a fool.

yea i believe so. mayweather is just too skilled for him. floyd doesnt depend on power to win. he doesnt use his size as much as a lot of fighters. he is a grea tcounter puncher and a superb fighter in picking his shots.
