“Lo del cinturón es algo que duele, porque no había razón alguna…’’, afirmó Gamboa. “Pero ya vendrán nuevas oportunidades. Lo importante es que la gente sabe bien quién es Yuriorkis Gamboa y lo ha ha hecho encima del ring. Yo no hablo mucho, me gusta hablar cuando estoy allá arriba, en el ring’’.

    Translation ( by me)

" The belt issue is something that hurts, because there wasn't any reason...", Gamboa affirmed. " But new opportunities shall come. The important thing is that the people know who Yuriorkis Gamboa is what he has done in the ring. I don't talk much, i like to do my talking when I'm in the ring".

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

We all knew the situation about Gamboa's belts but never really saw what he had to say on the topic.

Hopefully more champions will dump the WBA belts and they will go out of business.

Unlikely. These guys fight hard their entire careers and finally reach the belt they probably want to hold on to it for as long as possible.

plus, Gamboa was likely to leave those belts behind soon anyway, as he is planning to move up. Here's to him winning his 3rd title, in his second weight class 130 :happy

If anything, this is a positive for Gamboa. Everyone knows he and John are the top featherweights and now he doesn't have to pay those thieves and crooks a sanctioning fee.

Boxing would be better off if fighters just dumped these meaningless trinkets.
