Cheers Ardy. We'll be heading up from Derry on the day. Crown bar is just round the corner from where we're staying so probably have a few there early doors. Might call into McHughs as it's on the way to the Oddyssey.

Well I've never heard him saying he's a traveller just cause a few of his relations are don't make him one. Casey comes out and says he's settled , Andy never has and I never see travellers at his fight to support them.

My granny was from a English decent what does that make me British, give over. I've relations that are travellers but I've never been brought up in that culture what so ever so I don't think that make me a traveller. I suspect Andy hasn't either.

    You suspect incorrectly Jay.

Many dont like to make it public, which is their right, and it could negatively impact them commercially as well.

No Lee is from a travelling background.
And Fury is an Irish Traveller. Go to Galway and see all the Furys in halting sites! Its almost as common as Ward.

Even the famous Irish Music family "The Furys" were travellers.

Anyway, what does settled traveller even mean. They're not some ethnic minority. They're Irish people who for whatever reason decided to live in caravans and travel around. Theres no historical or genetic difference.

Your wrong there mate, Franciue Barrett recently did a show on RTE about travellers and were they came from, the DNA tests proved some travellers have a unique DNA marker that can be found nowhere else in the world which is extremely strange it and proves that they broke off from "settled" Irish people at least over a thousand years ago.

Stapo! SERIOUSLY! You've been doing a great job recently mate but are you for real with that article????

Please tell me you were busting your hole laughing when someone was claiming with pride that they had "burst into" the WBU top 15.

    1. **** the WBU

    2. Even the BBBoC have stopped sanctioning WBU fights because it is a worthless rag.

    3. Do the WBU have rankings? I'd love to see these rankings.

    4. Who is the WBU middleweight champion and who are the 14 ahead of Fitzer that are all clawing to get a shot at its shiney loveliness.

Well I can help you a little there. The last champ was Gary Lockett, who last defended the title in 2007 - and has been retired since 2008.

So please explain to me the relevance of this dormant title and the curious relevance of breaking into the top 15 ratings of a title no one wants to fight for.

I think he would teach Fury a lesson he's an old dog who still has a bit of bite in him and if he's in shape he'll beat fury .
    Just my opinion

Did Andy tell you he is a traveller or did he just say he has has traveller back round. Just caused you have a traveller back round don't make you a settled
    traveller at all.

Settled travellers still live in the same culture as travellers on a site not like their neighbours living next door. I'd be very surprise if you told me he lives like a settled traveller.

Thats the problem with Ireland they always trying to slat someone, I feel for Joe Ward cause if he wasn't a traveller he'd be worth ten times more than what he'll get when he turns pro. I bet the papers won't make a celebrity out of him like Egan.

The last 3 years of his career would suggest that's not true. He was outboxed, outfought and hurt by Fast Fres, only for the judges to give him an absolute gift.

He then stopped Matthew Greer in two rounds, a seemingly good result for Toney, but not when you take into consideration how the fight actually went. Greer rocked Toney in the fight, and despite James coming in at just 217 lbs he looked out of shape and didn't perform any better than he had been at larger weights before that. If anything he was starting to look well and truly shot.

He then took 17 months out before resuming against Damon Reed last February. Up at 257 lbs Toney won a shutout decision. No idea how the fight actually went as I didn't see it, but most decent Heavyweights dismantle Reed easily enough and stop him. Toney had 10 rounds to try and do that and couldn't, which is a bad sign imo.

James is 43 years of age now, he lost weight before for his fight with Greer and still looked quite poor and that was two years ago. I don't see why 2 years on he would look any better when he hasn't been keeping active and his speed and reflexes will have only declined further. What is without doubt as well is that his granite chin is gone too. Peter rocking him ?, that's not an issue Peter is a massive puncher. Batchedler, Oquendo and Greer hurting him ?, that's another story altogether. One of them doing it and you could right it off, all 3 and you have to say his punch resistance isn't what it used to be.

I know some will say my opinions are a result of not liking Toney but I believe this post to be without bias. Toney is shot, and his punch resistance is gone. Fury would have an easy night with him and stop him. Anyway it doesn't look like that fight is going to materialise anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Have you ever been to his fights in Limerick??? The place is always full of travellers. I couldn't care less whether he's a traveller or not. He's a Limerick lad and that's all that matters.

Ye I've been to most of them and the only time I though it was full of them was when willy casey or that jamie power guy was on the bill.
