Oscar, Floyd II on the way?
Mayweather camp says rematch is imminent, De La Hoya's camp says not so fast.

Promoter Bob Arum had hoped that Oscar De La Hoya's next fight would be against Miguel Cotto, who is promoted by Arum. But Arum told this newspaper Friday that fight is not going to happen because De La Hoya is going to take on Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a rematch of their record-breaking fight in May won by Mayweather via split decision.

"That fight is a done deal," Arum said at Los Angeles' Olvera Street, where he played host to a news conference promoting a fight between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Jose Celaya on Feb. 9 in Mexico.

Arum said there was never a real chance De La Hoya was going to fight Cotto, a hard-hitting world welterweight champion from Puerto Rico. Moreover, he said there were never any discussions between himself and Richard Schaefer, CEO of De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions.

"I don't think Oscar really wanted to fight Cotto," Arum said. "I think he used a possible fight with Cotto to put leverage on Mayweather in their negotiations. I knew it wasn't going to happen because the truth is, if Oscar fought Cotto, he'd be in for a serious beating.

"And with Mayweather, he just plays around. It's not a real ... nobody gets hurt."

****ing disgrace if it happens! There are so many more important fights out there for Floyd, but he likes the dead presidents I know, but for **** sakes:nono Does Oscar believe the result will be any different? This is what makes me insane, 2007= great year, 2008 should have been following on from that, not revisiting it!

I don't support this **** at all G....but you know what ya'll asked for this **** really.

I don't give a **** what nobody say's about Floyd being a coward how could he not give Delahoya a rematch when he fought Castillo twice and won the fight unamiously the first time, but just because people said the fight was close he gave dude a rematch its really no different with Oscar except the judges gave him a split decision which didn't make any sense.

He beat Oscar's ass pretty handily the first time...I don't wanna see this **** again I won't even watch it if its on Sopcast.

Floyd needs to fight Cotto or Williams...Delahoya is washed up and no longer relevant dude hasn't even had a tune up or nothing at 147 who the **** do he think he is...

De La Hoya will say, "It jusn't wasn't a night for the jab....or a right hand, or a left hook, or any punch for that matter!"

Mayweather will say,"You know Oscar's a great fighter, I stuck to the game plan.....zzzzzzzz"

    Better than nothing I suppose.

This should NOT happen. We don't need him rematching a past-it, inactive De La Hoya. He needs to take on legitimate threats within his own division (Miguel Cotto, Paul Williams).

How does Arum know? He's not with Mayweather or De la Hoya. Or has GBP informed him of the fight?
