    I'm curious to know...For Evander Holyfield to still be fighting, how much are his fight purses? Are promoters still paying him top dollar?:huh

    lol, what do you think? His last fights weren't even on premium channels. He's probably been fighting for thousands or maybe five figures. Not top dollar.

    he probably doesn't make much for his current fights... & alot of it goes to child support, back taxes, etc. Holy is in pretty horrible financial shape. His Atlanta mansion that he bought in the early 90's required 2 million dollars a year just for maintenance. He lost the mansion several years ago. Its really sad.... most fighters don't know how to budget. In fact, most people don't know how to budget. We don't teach it in schools!! wtf

    I don't feel sorry for guys like "Tyson, Bowe and Holy." All these guys know / knew how to fight, but neither can manage a little league baseball team...

    As for these guys listed above being in bad financial shape truly remains to be seen.... It seems that while these dude's claim to be broke and in debt, they still travel the globe, sit ringside, eat out daily and bang ho's on a regular basis.... I'd like to live broke that way.....

    I saw in a boxing magazine several years ago that his second wife alone took 90 million off him in their divorce, and this lady is a medical doctor. It also said that he has to pay $250,000 a year in child support per child until they reach age 18. At the time he had 10 kids with both his wives and other women. And the reason he says that he keeps fighting is because he wants to retire as heavyweight champion. Very sad.

    why the disrespect for Iron Mike ? don't u think he deserved 500K ? Nielsen wasn't that bad fighter and it was in his home country his recent fights were not all that jokes , if Larrry Holmes could make big money out of fighting bums for his title , why shouldn't Tyson get a mere half a mil for fighting a reasonable fighter who is a big name in his country ?
