McD will probably flurry his way to victory. He's boring as **** to watch in truth. He never really lands a punch which is like...'wow...that was clean'.

He's done really well to get where he is mind.

I don't doubt that - I suppose you're only as good as your last fight.... in which he was extended by a limited, if tough African.

The fight with Jamoye showed us that he's got heart and will in spades but also has weaknesses too.

    Agreed.

Hall will need to win 8 rounds to get the nod, given that our judges are workrate biased.

Can't fault either of them for what they've done, it's been done the proper way too.

    ------------------------------

Realistically it's the biggest fight either can have without being thrown into the bear pit, wouldn't surprise me to see these two go at it several times over the next year/18 months.

Agreed, I think on paper stylistically Hall is facing an uphill battle from the first round. Hall's work-rate ain't shabby and he is a cleaner more effective puncher, but McDonnell will pump out random punches all night and get on his bike a bit if need be. McDonnell's a little bit faster too.

I like Hall, just because he came through the ranks very late and he's no nonsense. He's not worried at all about what his opponent does, he just does what he does well and imposes himself on a fight extremely well.

    Bludgeoned is a good word.

If it goes the distance I reckon McDonnell just gets the decision. But I'd back Hall to win by stoppage. 4 ko's in last 4 all against high level domestic opposition, arguably better than McDonnell has faced at 'European ' level

The last bloke Hall faced was a joke, as for a washed up Power being better than Jayome and Arnould well I just dont agree

Donnelly was far to small to test Hall. Felt sorry for him he was game but he had no way of beating Hall. Your right who ever said Power is better then Jamoye :rofl.

Yeah that was too harsh, you're correct he's just too small. If McDonnell re-produces Jayome and Arnould I see no problem

Tbh your right to say it was a joke fight because IIRC John only beat one decent fighter and that was Bell. It wasn't a great defence it was just Maloney putting Hall on sky and making him look good.

It really is a close fight, very similar levels imo. As you can tell I think most people on here think Hall will win. Either way I see it going to a decision and I think Mcdonnel's extra experience over 12 rounds may be important. I fancy him by a few rounds
