I agree, mush the same as Froch against the other Taylor!!!

 

Jermain was stopped on his feet with a good 20 seconds left in the fight, adn had already been lucky to survive a previous knockdown in the 12th, the circumstances in the two fights were different. the Froch stoppage was obviously more justified.

 

See Mosley-Mayorga then for what someone can do with one left hook with only a second or so to go.....and Chavez, as we know, had an okay left hook ;-)

Chavez's right did the damage all night long. His left hook wasnt that affective against Meldrick IMO

 

I was trying to tie in with my sledgehammered in, agenda-serving reference to Mosly-Mayorga.

You seen Villaflor-Shibata 1? ****in' clinic from the chinny Jap', telling' ya now. Once Shibata gets going he's f'n class, his left hook is a beaut' and his defensive radar spot on.

Watched a Mike Tyson amateur fight, where he hit a guy with a right hand and knocked him about a foot into the air.

Even as an amateur Mike was a beast.

 

I dunno. He may not've been at his very best physically, and he did have a reputation for coming in out of shape. He sure looked like he was putting in maximum effort there, though. Didn't look noticeably slower or more languid than usual. I just think Rose was a bad matchup for him, honestly. Harada's lack of punching power and size is what did him in. Rose was a massive Bantam, and as strong as Harada was, if he wasn't able to muscle the guy or get his attention with his punches he wasn't gonna be successful against a man with that combination of size and agility. He had to resort to all out swarmer mode the entire fight to try to take Rose out of his game (as boxing clearly wasn't going to work), which in turn just left him open for countering opportunities pretty consistently. Rose took full advantage. As good as Harada was I doubt he'd have ever beaten the Aussie.

 

Michael Carbajal vs Humberto Gonzalez. Great come from behind win for Carbajal, it looked as though Gonzalez would over run him early but Michael fought back hard and there were some brutal exchanges, loved the fact they just let their hands go up close, hardly any holding and some fierce combinations from both. Rounds 5 and 7 were fantastic and the left hook finisher was perfectly timed. Awesome:happy

 

Nah, aint seen much on him. He seems to only be fragile early though.

Hes raw as hell as an amateur though, I mean really crude.

IMO that is the poorest Harada looks on film.

 

Oh, I agree with the styles clash wholeheartedly. And I agree that Rose looked great. But Masahiko was really struggling with the weight by that point, I think he could've given a better account of himself at another time. And he looked stronger at 126 than he did here, against Fammo who was a bigger bloke as well.

But no, he wouldn't have won if they'd agreed to fight at Feather either, as Rose was more than suited for that weight as well IMO and would still have the styles advantage. Still not many pure boxers I'd pick to beat Harada, Rose really was that good. WHAT A ****ING ERA :deal

While we're here; Bantams you'd conclusively pick to beat Harada?

Taylor well in control boxing & moving but then decided to resort back to his original philli stand & trade shoe-shine style & that was the end of him.
