Floyd does not have to be overly offensive to beat Manny, IMO. He needs to be first. The jab and straight right will be key for Floyd in that fight, I think. Also, his movement will give Manny fits. By just employing some basic movement, an old Mosely had Manny frustrated and off balance trying to land punches at times. He would pay for those type of mistakes against a sharpshooter like Floyd.

Floyds jab alone will trouble Pacquiao should they fight.

You're right about Cottoe has more power in his jab.

Jabs are meant to control distance though, create opening for other punches, and open cuts, not be a power punch. Floyd is better at Cottoe for using the jab to control distance because he has better footwork and timing than Cottoe.

It's not the jab alone that troubles emmanuel, there has to be a right hand. Marquez right hand gave him success. Morales jab AND right hand took him to victory.

    Of course he would. :patsch
Like you said, he's a professional boxer. That other professional boxer's opinion would have as much credibility as Spink's.

Now if some tough-guy-wannabe-keyboard-warrior says a champion's observations are nothing, that's pure idiocy.

If Floyd fights offensively against Pac, he's gonna get KTFO....

That is a very distinct possibility... I don't give a **** what Mayweather says I know he's watched Pacquiao's fights. He wouldn't fight him offensively. He's dumb, but not in that way.

He would pot-shot, shoulder roll and clinch the entire night. And hope it would be just enough... :smoke

    :think

Even if I were to agree with your assessment, I don't think Mayweather's power or lack thereof would be enough to stop or dissuade Pacquiao. Precision punching and all that...

You're right Mayweather's defense can be frustrating for many fighters. There's no doubt Mayweather could turn the fight into a "snoozefest" and leave it to a judge's preference.

You need a combination of things to beat a boxer as skilled as Mayweather.
Pacquiao has all of them, especially that intangible "mental toughness". Why do you think Mayweather decided to get in the ring with Ortiz??? Ortiz's is in doubt and for a very good reason. :smoke

You can't jab the current Pac because if you do he'll have the opportunity to counter attack with speed & footwork. You also can't clinch him because you have to take power punches to get in without making Pac pay for it. JMM & EM counter Pac while taking powerful shots, we all know that's not gonna happen with Floyd jr's philosophy and doubtful that he has the chin to do it. There's no chance for Floyd jr to win against Pac his style is tailor made for Pac, being in a defensive mode for 12 rounds not to get hit is not an option if you want to win against a very active fighter so his only chance is to wait for Pac to slowdown maybe 1 or 2 more years for the full wear & tear to takes it toll.

  14. Very true. Floyd even had Mosley almost Ko'd in the 6th of 7th I think. Fact.

Mosley was just acting but he almost got Knocked the F_cked out. Fact.

In my honest opinion he punches are as powerful as Shane's if not just a tad more powerful than Shane's. Fact

Problem is Pacquiao is 10X better than Gatti on his bad days. No offense to Gatti.
