I hate to say this because of my love for Gatti, but at 140 Ortiz has the speed and reach to keep him on the outside and bank rounds. This would be a clear UD, possible a late TKO.
Come on man, Gatti was a great crowd pleaser but he is not some invincible force, he just had great heart... but Ortiz would take him out... to big and to much power.
Really? :huh People don't think the Gatti of the trilogy, or of the Dorin or Leija wins could take everything Ortiz threw at him, throw it back and make him quit? After all - we are talking about Ortiz while he was at 140...not since moving up and "finding his spirit animal"or whatever in between Peterson and Berto. The Ortiz that fought Maidana, Campbell and Peterson calls it a day against the above versions of Gatti IMO. :conf
If Ortiz was stupid enough to try to mix it up the entire fight, Gatti could pull it out of the fire. If Ortiz was smart, he would box and Gatti wouldn't do ****.
Gatti could box a bit as well. :nono Vic and Arturo are actually alike in that regard, being able to box smart but inclined to stupidly brawl. In "boxer" mode, there isn't a lot between them except maybe the southpaw factor. You don't think near-prime Gatti would have shut out that same version of Campbell with about as little trouble as Ortiz did?? Or done about as well against Peterson? Let's not make it out like Ortiz is some kind of Sugar Ray and Gatti some kind of Jorge Castro type. That doesn't wash.
