Who would of won prime for prime? Clearly when Tarver fought Jones in 2003, Jones was past his peak. Jones didn't seem to have the power in that fight, that he had in his previous LHW fights.

Think a 1999/2000 Jones is basically unbeatable at 175.

"Even Roy Jones was forced to lean back" lol
Roy Jones Jr's demise has been one of the worse we have seen in recent years...almost as bad as Ali's

Tarver would always give Jones problems, tall rangy south paw, with a hammer, plus his **** talk, in supreme confidence in himself intimidated Jones, thats why Jones avoided him for a few years.

Tarver lost to Harding in a title shot eliminator, that's why they didn't fight prior to Jones fighting Ruiz. A prime RJJ would've embarressed Tarver and Glen Johnson.

Also, it always easier to blame it on a guy being past it, instead of giving credit to his opponent :-(

Jones deserved to get clean clocked anyway. That dirty cheat.

Jones beat Tarver when he was 35 years old and weight drained. He beats Tarver prime for prime 9 times out of 10.

i always felt that a prime jones would have beaten tarver.... his reflexes weren't the same after he came down from heavyweight.

    This.

But i don't agree that Jones avoided Tarver, he had his chance but lost his title eliminator against Harding. But Tarver would've always made a tough fight for Jones.

    Jones easily.

Tarver might of given him fits but Jones would win.

People got to give Tarver some credit Jones wasn't shot, until Tarver shot him, it's a shame people would use the weigh as an excuse for Jones, when the truth is in the middle Roy wasn't roiding, he got lazy with his training and fired his pops cause he was too hard on him, and he didn' have a glass jaw , until Tarver gave him a severe concussion with that over hand left, and shattered Jones ego and aura of invincibility.
