Donaire Gamboa is a superfight that needs to happen I fancy Donaire just I love his punching technique its so perfect. The leverage he gets is outstanding.

Gamboa can be amazing can be sloppy as well

 just a bit mate

It's pretty much an impossible fight to predict as, strangely, we don't no enough about my p4p number 5 (Doniare). Yes he is a beast at the weight, but how does he take a fully flush shot from a guy like Gamboa? Is he good enough defensively to avoid an onslaught? We don't no this about him as he has always been the agressive dominate guy.

The funny thing is, I think both these guys are good enough to keep moving up in weight, Gamboa to perhaps 140 and Doniare to 130/5. Obviously this is taking a few things for granted (their speed carries up and chins hold up). I fear therefore that when Doniare makes his move, Gamboa will be smacking Ricky Burns around the ring.

Well, actually Gaz makes a good point. I do sometimes forget how old Donaire is. It doesn't feel like he's been around long. Perhaps because I'm naturally comparing him to Pacquiao in my mind and I'm thinking he's only had 20 odd fights, he must be really young. But he's not, duh.

How much of a stylistic breakdown is there here? It's very clear cut to break down. You either like one style or the other in this matchup after you've factored in the idea Gamboa should in theory be bigger and stronger physically. But really I don't see how Gamboa can have a great style matchup against Donaire. He's makes far more mistakes and takes far more risks than Donaire. Now, thats kinda okay if Donaire can't hurt him and he can bully him somewhat, which I would understand if people thought that. But I highly highly doubt that would be the case that Gamboa would be untroubled by Donaire's punching.

Donaire is an unreal boxer too. Just a bit less exciting and also a bit less exploitable.

Gamboa would need to take risks to get inside on Donaire, and quite honestly Donaire is a much sharper, more effective puncher. He can do everything Gamboa can but better and with more tactical purpose.

So why don't they put these lads in some proper fights?

Donaire has only really fought Vic and Montiel..... Gamboa has only fought the same guys Lopez has, albeit beating them more impressively.

The lower weights seem nearly as bad as 160 for the fights not getting made :-(

I think that's harsh on Donaire, who's record tends to get underrated. CrabMan and Montiel are the only pound for pound contenders he's beaten, but when you add to that Mthalane, Marquez, Sydorenko, Maldonado and maybe a couple more it's not too shabby.

Pretty much how I see it. Except I favour Gamboas speed and power to be more potent at the weight. But if Donaire remains the same and can still bang it's anyones game.

I really hope this happens now....more likely than Pac-Floyd :good
