Wlad no WBA defence for 20 months

I don't get why people seem surprised/outraged now about the WBA heavyweight situation. It's been a joke for about a decade now.

 

I dont think anyone is surprised. The fact that it's still a joke though still causes outrage I think.

No one has been able to stop the rot is the main reason for the "outrage", in my opinion anyway. Each and every time they do something stupid it just highlights the ongoing mess they've gotten themselves into.

 

But the problem comes from people in boxing using messed up situations like the WBA one to their own advantages, then hypocritically slating them afterwards.

Take Sky for example. Over 2 years ago, the WBA Heavyweight title was hardly mentioned. Yet when David Haye somehow got a shot at that title, they made a massive thing of him becoming the 'world champion'. 2 years later and only this week on Ringside were they mocking the situation calling it a joke that Povetkin is now a WBA title holder. What's the difference? None.

This is just one example but when you take it all over the world (ie Australia trying to milk Danny Green's nuts over having the IBO belt), nothing ever gets solved and it'll only get worse.
