    Something i never thought I'd say but there's one thing Mares could learn from Mcdonnell and that's how to judge pacing a fight over 12 rounds. I think that's one of the main stumbling blocks in Abner's last few fights and though Mcdonnell is nowhere near Mares' class, he outdoes him in that department imo.

    He does always seem to give those performances that please judges which is a key component of his, especially with his lack of punching power

    Does it matter if these guys aren't world class? Not many fighters are.

    Being British/Euro level is still a fantastic achievment.

    Jpab...Santa Cruz/McDonnell makes little sense for McDonnell. He's got three belts that he can defend and make money from.

    McDonnell could confuse him a bit, but he'd get squashed eventually.

    Goog fight, very enjoyable despite the commentary, i think 115 - 113 for McDonnell was about right, didnt think he had that kind of ability in him, certainly proved me wrong.
