Why does floyd mayweather continue to duck andre ward?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Triple Southpaw, Sep 3, 2011.

  1. He's been ducking andre ward for the last 2 years or so.And don't give me that"Oh,he's two divisions heavier crap BECAUSE HE WEIGHED IN FOR THE DE LA HOYA FIGHT AT 150 POUNDS!!!!He is jepardizing his legacy by being known as a fighter who ducks fighters.Twenty extra pounds will probably only take away about 15 percent of his speed,so why duck the man?

I think the same can be asked of Ward, why does he continue to duck the Klitchko's?

The Pistons clearly ducked Magic Johnson by taking him out of the '89 finals

Firstly Ward is tied up with the super six and could not fight Floyd even if wanted to, not to mention the HUGE weight difference...but I'm sure Im missing something here, as I cant believe you are being serious?

    LOL...ture

Except for the fact the Ward don't go around claiming to be the greatest eva. When you claim to be the greatest eva you have to challenge yourself.

this is a stupid thread,i mean we all know floyd is the king of ducking guys but i wouldnd consider andre ward one of these guys.who do you think floyd is pacquiao or something,i mean he would have to move up 3 weight classes ,thats to much to ask of gayweather.

Obviously your just being stupid about the whole Martinez situation, and him punking your idol Floyd Mayweather. Martinez fought at 160 against Pavlik. Floyd Mayweather fought at 154 against DLH. Not that big of a difference of weight classes.
On top of that, Martinez is willing to go down to 154 from what I've heard, and I've heard others say he was willing to go down to 150 to fight Pac or Mayweather!!

I like martinez, and do not like Ward, but I'll seriously say if any fighter...Whether it be martinez, Ward, K Bros, Valuev are willing to fight at say 150 then I don't see the big deal about Pac or Mayweather fighting them.
Pac is my favorite fighter, but I'll seriously say that Martinez lights him up at 150 and possibly knocking him out late in the fight. Mayweather is a defensive master, but I'll say Martinez outmuscles him and knocks him out late in the fight or this fight is so decisively in Martinez's favor they must give him the decision (I say 8 rounds Martinez and 4 for Floyd). I'm not even overrating Martinez's power because of what he did to Paul Williams, but between his power, his speed, and skills this is one hell of a man to beat. I wouldn't even bet against him against 168 pounders...I think the only way he loses is to straight up get knocked out

What are you talking about Martinez and his trainer have said that he cant make 150, so your no you have never heard or read any credible source state that.

You do realise Floyd campaigns at 147 and has only ever had one fight at 154 which he weighed in at 150?

If they can make the fight at 154 then cool but I dont see the point you are making...
