What the hell are those noisemakers? Did someone unleash a box of rattlesnakes in the arena?

Ok you know what. With the way this division is looking Russell needs one or 2 more years to contend with them.

this is Miranda. He has basically been beaten by prospects who are really not going to amount to much from looking at them.

Yes he is flashy but the pop is really not there. Mirandas chin is not the greatest.

I just cant picture Russell taking on a Gamboa, Lopez, Rafa, Gonzalez, Garcia, John or Salido.

his best shot would be against Lopez and Gonzalez as they have a shaky chin but then again both guys carry big power with much faster hands than Miranda.

We will see how he turns out but im not really convinced. Also hand problems definitely not a good sign.

That's a valid point, actually. I've long felt he could struggle with being undersized. Fortunately (as stated before) his chin seems pretty good SO FAR.

I think Russell can out box Garcia easily.

    Detailed Compbux/Punchzone stats:

Miranda landed 49 to the head and 22 to the body.

Russell landed 162 to the head and 48 to the body.

Russell landed as many body punches as Miranda did head shots!!!

Russell landed more than twice as many head shots as Miranda did total punches!

Russell is at least 5 fights away from being a serious title contender imo. Great skills, fantastic speed...but little power and still a lil inexperienced, give him time to mature! Don't rush him FFS the kid is 23 and never gone beyond 8 rounds, lets him step up naturally and don't try to rush him

out-work maybe out-box no for me. Garcia is patient, powerful and precise boxer. His problem is that he is economical puncher so if Russell can take his hard punches and respond with his flashy fast combos he can out-work him and win a contested decision.

I'm hopeing Jan Zaveck wins me a few v.bucks. I think he wins a close decision. This is based on seeing only a few minnuets of him. I would not count out the possibillity of Andre Berto winning by ko, or a somewhat hometown decision.

I'd love to see Berto get his ass beat again, never been a fan of his fake thug act.

This seems like a pretty good fight for him though, from what I've seen of Zaveck, hes nothing really special. Meat and potatoes type of fighter, OK at a lot, special at nothing. Could look like Bertos fight with Freddy Hernandez.
