Fark me Contendo, to my simple mind you may not have meant it or said it in jest but you said the guy was washed up and finished with 'stick a fork in him' comment others are saying this guy has no ticker cause he didn't sook.

I feel for Pitty, but purpose of the game is to either outpoint the opponent or stop him. Punch(s) which result in KO or cut makes no difference.

I was going to get let it go and not say another thing on the matter, but for the record, this being a forum promotes discussion - good or bad.

In this case, I followed up initial comments made by another poster (pegson123) that were made about Jamie "not wanting to fight", I commented that I agreed and I made statement that it appeared that Jamie didn't question the doc's decision, comments for my part I stand by and I would think when anyone with perspective would agree on the surface of the footage.

I certainly don't know if Jamie was questioning the doc at the time, "give me one more round, I'm ok doc" type comments as I wasn't there ringside, but on face value it didn't appear to to be the case. (I could be wrong?)

Jamie, please read this as no one stated you should have gone about swearing or making a scene and it's very commendable that you didn't, but as punters who either a.) buy a ticket to the venue, b.) but the PPV or c.) go to a pub purchasing food and beverage to support the venue's purchase of the fight, we are entitled to ask support/barrack/question or for that matter, pass comment on performance - good or bad.

It is no different to any of us supporting our favourite NRL and AFL teams. Support both positive and negative goes with the territory.

Coming on here though and stating your $12,000 committment to your sport is commendable also, but to be frank from my personal perspective, I couldn't care less. There would be numerous/countless blokes who are boxing fans, both on here discussing it in forums, as well as just simple fans who spend more than $12,000 annually to either run their own businesses or paid in petrol and tolls to get to a job. I know it costs me far greater than $12,000 to open the doors to my business every day.

You as a professional boxer/sportsmen in actual fact are self-employed, the expenses come with the territory unfortunately. It is your choice to train with whomever and wherever in accordance to better your career, your call. Again, no one questions it, but it's irrelevant to the argument put forward.

Again, I stand by my comments and Jamie, I also made comment that I thought you would win, but also with your record, if you could have strung 2-3 wins together, a title shot could happen for you. This appears to have not be taken into account.

I wish you every success Jamie, but the point I make to you is, it's not your god given right to expect people not to ask questions about your performance, or for that matter any boxer/athlete/team, etc we shell money out on following. We are not 'clowns' as you so well put it and I would like to think we are all trying to live and better our lives which you stated, hence on here in a forum, or for that matter even if were talking with mates in the pub over a beer about the sport you love/we love, we are entitled to comment.

Dejan Zavec had shocking cuts on both eyes today vs Andre Berto.
And put in perspective he didnt create a scene but protested/questioned his corner adamantly about stopping the fight & was praised for it by the HBO commentators & his heart/guts could not ever be questioned.

Hell Barry Michael even questioned Pittman on the live broadcast.

Stop, stop, stop Kegsy, what are you doing??

Be gone with your heathen comments, you know you are not allowed to be critical on here of any fighters, you must only praise fighters, all pc correctness here!

As a pc correct forum, please use only positve comments such as "a credit to the sport" as we must all agree with our discussions and heaven forbid wouldn't want fighters/athletes to feel anything less than good about themselves and their performances.

g'day boys, not sure if you realise, but i was ringside at the Pittman fight, just to let you know, it actually wasnt the doc that stopped the fight, the doc said Jamie was ok to fight on but the ref called it, believe me when i say the doc was filthy on the decision

yeah, i must admit, im not sure what the deal is with the doc and over ruling the ref, but i would of thought that to be right, at the time i thought i heard the doc say he's ok, then after the fight i asked him and confirmed it. he was dirty cos he thought it looked to everybody as though he stopped it

So Bubsy, you are saying that the ref ordered the stoppage?

Forgive my scepticism, but in essence that leads to two (2) conclusions:

    a.) the ref credits himself as more of a medical authority than the qualified doctor or;

b.) the ref has questioned/assessed said fighter and drawn the conclusion that the fighter either didn't wish to continue or wasn't in a position to continue.

Forgive me one and all as my scepticism of the whole ending jumps off the screen as you read this.

yes Contendo, that's what im saying, mate i would have the verry same level of scepticism as you if i didnt see and hear it myself, the ref (anthony shipley) ordered the stoppage, i also heard it from the show supervisor noel sharpe
