Berto caught a SERIOUS break with that stoppage

Cause Zaveck was taggin his ass like a dead mans toe. Berto looked like **** tonite, needs to get some defense. I don't know man, he gets easier and easier to hit each fight.:-(. He's turned from a fighter to a brawler and I dont think its good for his career.

 

I wouldn't say he's getting worse or looks real bad.. but I agree, he's becoming a brawler and getting easier to hit.. at the same time, it doesn't mean he can't use this to his advantages and take fighters out early or become a pressure fighter.... But yeah, his defense will eventually get his head taken off

 

he need some ****ing foot work. work on the outside. come in with some heavy shots and get moving. Standing there like a pumching bag and getting in exchanges is great for the fans but it might hurt him again later on.

But he does have speed and power and exciting to watch. If you dont like that than dont watch boxing troll.

His trainer is horrible.

 

The fight was even and Zaveck was landing cleaner, Hell Berto was hitting gloves most of the time. He's lucky that fight didn't go on cause he was getting hit more and more.

 

Berto would of mucked it out. Those body shOts would of started slowly zaveck down.

 

Zaveck was landing some good shots but they didn't have any threatening power behind them. I thought Berto would've won it eventually with or without the stoppage.

B.S. stoppage by the way... Zaveck's corner needs to grow some balls.

 

They should of let him go one more round and at least try for the KO. That would of exciting. At least give him a chance

 

Berto is reviled here because he got an HBO contract that he didn't deserve, fought shitty comp and got a gift decision against Collazo. With that being said, it was close fight. I really don't know how anybody can sit here and claim with a straight face that Zaveck was going to easily TKO Berto with one eye if he had been allowed to continue. Zaveck landed clean quite a few times and never hurt Berto. Additionally, there is nothing "lucky" about an injury that is caused by clean, hard punches.

I've actually never been a fan of Berto like many others here, and I was very turned off by the way that he was protected. However, IMO the reaction to the result of that fight on this forum has been ridiculous.

 

He ****ed up the IBF champion to the point his face looked as if it was turning inside out...I hope I look that "****" at some point during my professional career (not boxing). He's a brawler, and I suppose if you can withstand the pressure and take the beating, he's there to be beaten...obviously much easier said than done.

 

Berto's so flawed, it's comical. I enjoy watching him fight though, mainly because I enjoy laughing at how shitty his defense, footwork, and ring intelligence are.
