i dont know if id call it a break

the stopapge did rob the fans more than anything

the fight was heating up and becoming interesting

zaveck came out aggressive berto adjusted then zaveck changed up and gained the momentum

then we would have seen if and how berto would react

the stoppage robbed us of a great fight we were watching and insight

zaveck wanted to keep going and they didnt let him

zaveck claimed he was prepared for the 2nd half berto boasted new and improved conditioning

which we didnt get to see

anyway id liek it if zaveck got a rematch but politics would never let that happen

i expect an ortiz rematch as ortiz will be coming off a floyd loss and looking for a belt to get back i nthe picture

plus it would have dolalr signs all over it after their first war

But you do admit that facial damage is not always indicative of a fight, yes?

Perhaps we are making progress. :good

I actually thought they both were doing good not hitting heads, the only clear headbutt I saw was when berto rushed in on the ropes towards the end of the 5th, I think thats where he got the smaller cut on the left eye.

I would favor Ortiz over Berto, I like Ortiz and have nothing but respect for him.

it wasnt pretty for berto, never is. he got the win, that is all that matters. he aint no floyd mayweather. he likes to outmuscle people. he was able to outmuscle a weaker guy in there. esb usual overreacting

Then I suggest you pay closer attention when the replays come up.... not too sure if all the headbutting came intentionally though, or maybe it just came about as a result of clumsy infighting by both men.

Ill rewatch it, ive only seen it once as of now, the Inside exchanges were the best part of the fight in my opinion.

He was lucky this guy was not the heavy handed Ortiz.

i dont know if he was outmuscling him in the 4th adn 5th he started crowding berto inside and landing in close

and everytime berto went to hold zaveck would shove him back

Look I'll be more fair about this, The fight was close and berto got the better of him when it came to the damage done, but Zaveck was right in that fight. Fair win for Berto. He is a decent fighter and has been in some exciting fights, props for both men showing up to fight, wish we could have seen more.

most people had berto winning the fight by at least a point or 2. zavecks plan wasnt working in there. he fought right into bertos hands. berto used body shots, uppercuts, and even his head to get the win. jan trying to beat berto at his game, aint gonna happen

Berto was slowing down.. and Zaveck was starting to land uppercuts and right hooks on the inside...

Probably different result 2-3 rounds down the line.

I think you guys need to give Berto a lil bit of credit. Zaveck didn't cut and lump himself up. I keep reading that his cuts and swelling robbed fans of late rounds drama. Yeah Zaveck was tough, but he lost. Vitali was tough against Lennox, but he lost. The loser is getting more "big ups" tonight, and Bertos being grilled for looking bad, but winning.

Also true. Zaveck was probably specifically picked out for the very reason that he's not a big puncher. That seems to be a trend when it comes to Berto's matchmaking handlers. The only real banger Andre has ever faced is Ortiz.
