Ortiz and Pacquiao will be dangerous early for Floyd because they don't commit to the jab. Pac throws a straight left right hook, then combos, and Ortiz likes to throw bombs and fight inside. Once they are solved, they have no plan B. Floyd has plan A, B, C and D.

he wouldn't do that against a southpaw, it would put him right in range for left hand leads. In case you haven't noticed Floyd tends to use a high guard against southpaws.

This is old news. Floyd doesn't employ the shoulder roll against southpaws because its common knowledge that opposing stances are more vulerable to the rear straight. That's why orthodox fighters often lead with the right instead of a jab against southpaws, and the reverse holds true as well, but the vulnerability is amplified with the shoulder roll. While the shoulder roll is his typically preferred stance, Floyd can use the high guard with proficiency as well.

Both are good to defend with in a conventional matchup but the shoulder roll can not only protect the body and face simultaneously, but it also give him a wider range of vision which is very important at his level of fighting.

I don't think so, Floyd employs one the best lead straight rights I've ever seen, a great weapon against a southpaw. Also Pac has problems with people who move to his left, which Floyd does very well, as well as struggling with counter punching(Floyds best attribute). The only thing that would cause Floyd trouble is Pac's work rate, which early on would cause Floyd fits. IMO Floyd would adjust and cruise to a UD. Been sayin it for years, maybe one day he'll prove me right.
