I like his heart and his athletic ability is really world class, but I hate how flawed and sloppy he is.

I can get on board with that I guess. I respected him more in his loss to Ortiz than anything else I've seen from him.

I have said for a long time that hes sloppy as well.

sadly ortiz atleast on here gets all the credit and in defeat berto was called a fraud

yet it took a great effort from berto to create a dramatic effort by ortiz

    Good post.

I definitely believe Zavek when he said he was conserving his energy for the second half. 90% chance he would have won, probably by KO. It's a shame that his eyes became cut and swollen like that, but they had to stop the fight, and it was a most excellent fight. Shame.

Was Berto rubbing his head into Zavek's eyes?

    not sure

and i believe what he said too

well cuts and swelling are part of the game

with the cuts we woulda saw action as zaveck would be forced to do something big

minus the cuts who knows and thats why a rematch makes sense but it aint gonna happen

I'm not sure either. I do recall seeing Berto's head very close to Zavek's on the inside.

i think that if zaveck hit as hard as ortiz he would have dropped berto a few times he was getting caught alot and i disnt agree with harolds card at all i though it was extremly close at the stoppage

put this in other thread by accident.

Berto would be 10x better off watching Michael Jackson videos than working with Conte.
He needs to get on those toes and not be flat footed or he will get hit all day long.
Simple physics. As long as he makes the bs excuses about vitamins and the other bs nothing will change.

I think Berto thinks hes a bigger banger than he is. That might be why hes so flat footed all the time.

:deal this sums it up pretty much. Speed, power, athleticism, etc pure offense with little regard to defense reminds me more of a certain fighter from Pomona, California and in his day referred to as the green eyed monster.

why cant people acknowledge that he won the fight? unbelieveable. jan could not continue due to how bad the eye was. watch the tape. berto won:deal when a fighter cant continue because of a serious injury, the other guy wins the fight. berto was using jan's head as punching bag at the end of the fight. people always claiming some bs oh he cheated, blah, blah, blah. excuses r like arseholes, everyone has got one

Neither Saveck or Berto impressed tonight.Saveck has a chin and tough. The only WAY Bertoe could have taken him out is by cutting his eye open and force a stoppage which was the case.Saveck might have taken his time but it did appear he was considerably slower and had less impact on his punch compared to Berto.I think his plan was to come on strong when berto starts to fade late in fights.Smart, but he had to endure punishment early he did by the way but was cut in the middle stanza.Shame.

What??? He's an exciting fighter since the Ortiz fight. Before that, all he was doing was holding like a *****. Oh yeah, and against Collazo, because the ref took one point for ***** holding.

But tonight, we learned why. He has no defense. Wait, it's a little bit worst. He has no defense AND put himself in stupid positions to get hit like a ******ed.

At least, that was an amazing fight before the cut. More than that, he showed some balls.

But man, he has to work on his defense, and right now!!!
