Absolutely. If Ortiz can land to the body he can take away Floyd's legs which is what Castillo did. Floyd was not able to get away from Castillo's power and unable to return cleanly. For some reason fighters try to head hunt vs Floyd because they are usually in a major hole on the score cards or just not great body punchers. Mosley for example when he had Floyd hurt tired out head hunting. Floyd always brings his guard super high after he gets a little hurt. That is a great time to land to the body vs Floyd and avoid punching out on his high guard like Shane did. Ortiz has a nice shot vs the untested Welter who has been very inactive and not faced a Welter 10 years his junior ever. Floyd is the most overrated WW possibly off all time. Zero wins vs a prime A level fighter. Until that happens my opinon won't change.
Forget the Castillo fights... If Ortiz were to be following a blueprint, he should be studying (Granted, it failed in the end) the Judah & Corley fights, right???
No one fight is the key. De La Hoya did well for a round or two until Floyd started timing the jab. Shane landed that monster power punch that hurt Floyd but then lost every second of the rest of the fight. Corley had that moment that may have been a KD but lost pretty much every other round of the fight. Zab had what, 2 or 3 solid rounds against Floyd and after that it was barely competitive. No one is going to beat Floyd doing what one fighter did unless they knock him out cold.
gutsy and good analysis. To me, depends on what the ref allows. If Cortez or clone, and disallows Ortiz' aggression while allowing Floyd's elbows etc, I'd bet on Floyd. If a fair fight, 50-50.
every single ****ing opponent since has watched that fight idiot and they still lost atsch Even Castillo tried using his own damn strategy twice
if ortiz comes in a slow giant, i think it may look more like may-hoya (without the jab) than the castillo fights
problem with this is floyd also knows how to cling and grab and now has one of the best inside games at 147 that being said, ortiz does have the power, aggression, and youth to make it interesting
So if a Restaurant has been closed for almost 2 years would you tell me they NOW have the best food. If your closed you don't have **** until you reopen. Until the food can be tasted no opinion can be formed. On the Grand Re Opening Sept 17th people will digest the food and opinions can be given. People are growing tired of the Chef and unlikely it will be better when he hasn't dealt with a full kitchen in 2years.
****, if Maidana can get to Ortiz's chin Floyd will find it all night long. This kid is in for a long night.
:huh what are you going on about...floyd's inside game has improved drastically over his career, from featherweight on up
Like you said he is different, he is something specktactickle [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hf8JzUBtn9c&feature=related[/ame]
