Dirrell is a natural athlete. Not a natural boxing talent like Ward

Agreed. In terms of boxing he is ****ing unconvincing and scared. His Grandpa forced it on him (boxing, not his ****) methinks.

Larry Holmes has gone from being an underrated heavyweight champion to, by far, the most overrated.
The great champions since - Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, the Klitschkos - would have all beaten the best version of Holmes.
And I do, totally, stand by that.

I know, but it really shouldn`t be. Look how nuts the general forum goes if you don`t bow to the supposed greatness of the bitter old sod. No way he gets up from the best punches Lewis and Tyson could deliver.

Probably, gone a bit far with that one.

No. 2: Haye is one of the best boxers Britain has ever produced. His achievements as a lineal champion - one of the very, very few we`ve ever had - and a decent heavyweight belt holder. the Ruiz victory is extremely underrated. Others have beaten Valuev (whatever the scorecards said) but Haye`s victory was by far the clearest.

No. 3: Haye would beat Wlad in a rematch. If he looked at the tape, he would realise that he was the puncher of the two, has the better chin, the speed and even defence over Wlad. He would also note that he went from a fairly straight puncher to looping maniac in that fight and would sort that out.

No. 4: Calzaghe would have been dq-ed in the States on numerous occasions for the way he threw his punches.

No.5: Calzaghe`s BHop victory moves Calzaghe from a good fighter to a great one.

No.6: breaking hands can help boxers. PBF and Calzaghe both improved after their hands became more fragile - Calzaghe certainly - as they relied less on their power and honed their styles.

No.7: Hatton -Tszyu was not only an excellent fight, Hatton beat a great fighter in great form. Tszyu was not physical peak, but the 34-year-old version would have beaten the late 20s more athletic version of himself

No.8: Hatton was a better fighter pre-tszyu. He prepared a particular gameplan and executed it excellently, but then only used that style in later fights. A huge mistake - before that he had great head movement and fantastic footwork.

No.9: Lennox Lewis is the only boxer who should be allowed to refer to himself in the third person.

No.10: Prime RJJ beats anyone in and around his weight class in history.

But the Larry Holmes nonsense that people spout is the thing that riles me the most.

Tyson is the most overrated HW in history. A victory over Sprinks and a shot to **** Holmes doesn't warrant a place in the top 10 HW's of all time.

Duran technically, was the greatest boxer that ever lived and could have beaten anyone from LW to WW

Jimmy Wilde is the hardest puncher p4p of all time.

Lennox Lewis could probably have beaten any HW in history, but it doesn't necessarily make him the best

On closer inspection, Lennox definitely TKO6 Vitali!!!!!

I dunno Gaz, I'm not sure Buster beats either Johnson or Rocky tbh.

I was talking to someone on the BN Facebook page who was adamant Tyson should be considered a in the top 10 GOAT (I think the guy had him above Duran and Armstrong). When I said he wasn't even a top ten HW, he almost had heart failure.

Tyson doesn't get into my HW top 10 either Vano but don't fall into the trap of judging a fighter by his worst performance.....;O)

The problem people have with Tyson is that the uninitiated would make him a 20-1 favourite over Godzilla, he'd just hit someone and over they'd go.

It's not nearly as infuriating as when people say Vitali is up there H2H. Just..... WHY? Who did he beat?

He gave Lewis a decent fight and knocked over a few clowns. So did Briggs, Mavrovic....

He also quit on his stool against a man who he was dominating easily.....
