Thats the whole thing though. Ali represented the nation of islam to the media. He went to KKK rallies promoting segregation. If he didnt believe what he was saying it didnt make it any better. Its actually worse. Malcolm X got killed for preaching what he felt and Ali turned his back on him.
It sells fights. The problem is Floyd isnt a media friendly fighter the way that ODLH was. Oscar was at least as shitty of a person as floyd yet you never heard about it. The rapes, the many children, the unpaid child support and so on. But Oscar was a media darling so many of those things never made much air.
at least we never saw oscar burning money, bragging about how is better than everybody else or calling somebody of his family ******, mother****... etc. but you made an valid point :good
Ali was racist way we just have to accept that no excuses. Privately you don't know what he was thinking but we do know what he believed and he believed that white people were devils, black men who wanted to act middle class were uncle toms, blacks and whites should live in segregation e.t.c Watch any interview of ALi he meant every word he said.:deal
How old are you anyway. Seems like you know nothing about issues about how African American were treated during the 50's, 60's and 70's. Comparing lil floyd's antics on arrogantly burning money during these hard economic times in which majority of people barely meet ends and trashing his own father on open public view, and to Ali's and most of African American principled stand, I thinks you are a racist in the fullest form looking them as being the same. Leon must really be proud of you.
Floyd will get humbled by Father Time eventually... have a painful loss or two to show for it. Just like every other fighter.... Except Joe Calzaghe haha.
I never said it was right or wrong, better or worse. Just stating facts. I would agree that its worst to be hateful because someone eles is and you think that its cool. Ali self admitted wasnt a very bright man, while he was witty Ali wasnt well liked. That is something that happened in the 1980's. The NOI was a chance for Ali to feel like he was apart of something powerful, at a time when many African Americans felt powerless. Thats all im saying, good or bad its the driving force of why, not hate.
I dont know what it is, I see his age from his mouth and strech marks, and his stubble, but I know for sure it wont affect his boxing, like it did with RJJ
