Maybe the greatest fight I've ever seen.

Great highlights, but how can you exclude the iconic 'stare' from my avatar?

I would pick Arguello, Pryor and Duran at 135-140 lbs. over Pacquiao, De la Hoya, Chavez in any combination of matchups.

The visual of Pryor's stare-down didn't fit the tone of the music. Sorry.

I thought that this was an even better fight than Corrales-Castillo. Though it had a more dramatic ending. Maybe the greatest fight ever filmed. Easily top 5.

Amazing that within about a month period in 1982, there was:

    Pryor-Arguello 1
    Chacon-Limon 4
    Gomez-Pintor

Mancini-Kim was also within this time frame.

I prob broke down & cried after Alexis Arguello lost to Pryor.

Yeah, WTF was in that bottle??? The SOB came out like they just stuck a rocket up his ass at the end of the fight.

    :-(

I don't find Pryor's in-ring behavior suspicious. It was consistent with how he performed and fought throughout the fight and in other fights of his. He came tearing out of his corner in the 12th and the 13th as well if I remember correctly. Panama Lewis, though, has put a question mark over the whole affair. That screwy douche-bag was probably up to something. Still, I don't like to let it spoil the fight for me.

Get this the **** straight.....there are no question marks to this fight any longer.....
In the HBO documentary "assault in the ring" Resto came clean and admitted Panama Lewis in multiple occasions had mixed asthma pills with water designed to open your lungs up for easier breathing.
Resto went on to say that when he drank from that bottle, his breathing tubes would open right up.

What the **** more do you people want? For that **** Pryor to admit it himself?:patsch

Illegal medication is what Panama Lewis used throughout the Arguello-Pryor fight to keep Pryor fresh and breathing.

.....who the **** knows what else Panama did to cheat Arguello.
The commision in Miami where the fight took place was newly formed, and by many peoples accounts were clueless. There was never any pre or post fight drug test, and to boot, Resto claims that aside form Panama taking padding out of his gloves, he also carried plaster in his wraps.

With a commision in Miami that was clueless, you dont think Panama Lewis did'nt tamper with Pryor's glove padding or wraps?????
    Only a ******ed fool would'nt think so!:nut

Pryor deserves zero accolades, he's a ****ing sham and a disgrace to boxing.:fire

Well it ****ing spoils it for me.
That **** Pryor knows he got away with cheating.

Heres a link that quotes Emmanuel Steward, Pryor admitting to him having gotten away with shady practices in that first Arguello fight.:-(
