Years dont matter experience does. the full path is irrelevant the fact is that before Wlad fought for the ring (linear) title he had well over 50 fights and a long career with loads of experience they wanted Alex after about 16 fights

    Teddy is not stoopid

If Povetkin's not going to fight guys who are 6'4 or bigger (preferably bigger), he's not going to get that much more that would help him in a Klitschko fight besides improved basic conditioning if he really pushes himself to get in shape in camp. The latter is vital, but he could just as soon accomplish both by fighting a younger, bigger guy than he will by fighting The Ancient Warrior.

Povetkin is very much a guy on the verge of losing good shape and losing sharpness along, he's deadly powerful but he has a tendency to get chubby. I won't be surprised if he losed the title ina short while, not against someone like Holyfield but someone else... Atlas is wrong, this is the time to take it to Klitschko.

Povetkin is old & past-prime for his style... at 32 is body clock is ticking.

Alex will improve under Atlas and they will strike when ready.

It's not as if the boxing world gives a damn which polish or russian name gets in the ring with Klitschos next. There is simply no clamour

As a matter of fact if Povetkin keep active , fought has beens on friday fights like rahman toney and holyfield type he could start to generate a name stateside he wouldnt even need to go near a klitschko until after about 10 bouts , then go for adamek Arreola haye types

It's marathon not a sprint, Klitschkos knew this and so does Povetkin and Teddy.

I think if I wait long enough, my baby son will beat Wlad when Wlad's 60 years old and my son is only 27.

Those who say Povetkin has to fight Klitschko are stupid.
    - Povetkin won't beat Klitschko right now, he could get beat up badly and his career would END here. Yes END.
    - Instead of ENDING the career with one fight, he can continue defending his "world title" for like 4-5 times with his undefeated record AND make enough money in exciting fights without having to enter a suicide mission.

Klitschko will be an ATG at the end of the day, with or without Povetkin. What i mean is this: Instead of getting ONE boring one-sided jab jab beating, we can get 4-5 exciting fights like the one against Chagaev was.

Wlad had 37 fights before fighting for the lowly regarded wbo at the time and well over 50 fights before fighting for the ring title

Isnt it funny that he was pushing for the pro with less than 20 fights
    (few more now)

Yes Povekin might play a waiting game somewhat to get more experience but the Klits are playing a "get them early " game, in an effort to not have an experienced seasoned fighter come fight nite

This has happened initially with haye the man had very few fights(first negotiation) , povetkin they wanted him with less than 20

    also chisora with 14 fights

Its all a timing game, dont be mad cause Teddy recognises this!

    Why you mad bro?

Atlas has the right idea. Povetkin is younger than Klitschkos and if managed carefully and only thought WBA, he has a chance to wait out their reign and fight Vitali when he is 49, thus greatly increasing Alex`s chance to win.

Atlas is Povetkin's trainer, so if he says he's not ready. Than he's probbly right. This dose not mean that Holyfield should get a shot at him though.

So what, should Klitschko fight tomato cans until these guys decide that they're ready? Povetkin was the #1 challenger years ago and Haye on his own challenged both brothers. You make it sound like the big bad Klitschkos are forcing these poor inexperienced fighters into the ring.

Actually, YOU make it sound like that with your question above.

Why in hell should Povetkin care who Klitschko fights. His trainer and his team know he has no chance now against him, so why waste 4-5 title defenses and exciting fights that would bring money to them, without having to end Povetkin's career in one fight.

Being mandatory doesn't mean you are ready to take on the Champion, you and your trainer know if you are ready or not.

He won against Chambers, Byrd and Chagaev and that makes him definitely number 1 after the Klitschko's. That just speaks about Klitschko's superiority, not about Povetkin being ready. I know nobody has a better record than Povetkin to take on Wlad, but i also know that a fight with him is a suicide mission that ends his career.

I want to see good fights from Povetkin (like the one against Chagaev) NOT boring jab jab career ending beating against Wlad. :yep
