just thought id add to the dozens of ortiz/floyd threads out there! Ortiz is so dam annoying. ''im literally a tree bro''. ''i said id beat floyd when i was 7. people said oh youll never get to that level (floyd was 0-0 at the time) ''u dont even have parents'' (w...t....f?) Ortiz is taking this whole adversity bull**** to an obnoxious level! Floyd being floyd Cringe worthy scene with 50 cent and the dollar bills. Also in ep 1 when hes talking about 50 ''hes my best friend. il always be there for him'' in the GAYEST voice you'll ever hear ''if ur the best trainer, then have the best gym!'' this 24/7 has been full of cringing moments and cheesy bull****. But we are all talking about it so its clearly getting the job done! Anyways both fighters are pissing me off. Ortiz, you wonder why people said you had no heart? you QUIT FFS. your talking like people are just throwing that out there for no reason. yes you redeemed yourself but you can hardly blame people for questioning your heart post maidana. get real. Hoping for an all out war. but in reality floyd WILL school him. and look that good doing so, most of us will forget his obnoxious bull**** for a little while and admire his pure skill, which at the end of the day for me is all that matters
HaHa. True lies bro. Yeah there have been an awful lot of cringeworthy moments in 24/7 so far including De la Hoya this week trying to build Ortiz's confidence. He's trying to make up for losing faith in Victor after the Maidana bout and he wasn't even at the title fight between Ortiz and Berto so he can't have had much faith that he would win. Instead he was ringside for a nothing bout between his new favourite Amir Khan and Paul McCloskey, in Manchester. Now he's gone crawling back to Ortiz. De la Hoya the promoter is a real piece of **** IMHO
:deal Everytime Ortiz says this sh^t..I'm like "wtf"....he talks like he is fighting Ali. I mean how much could Floyd have already accomplished if you were only 7?
absolutely. also oscar basically admitting hes full of ****. ''he beat hatton. comeon hatton was small'' - not what u said prior the fight ''he beat mosley. comeon man'' - you were ready to bet your house on a mosley win i know promoters are supposed to hype their guy and fighter but oscar takes the ****. also spot on about cashing out on ortiz by throwing him in with berto. im sure oscar didnt think ortiz would win. now hes sucking up to the lad
I thought he said when he was 9. Either way, floyd was only in the Olympics then. So Ortiz is full of **** with that statement.
Yeah, I don't think Ortiz is coming across too well. I think some fighters get onto a huge stage and they don't know how to react to it, so rather than be themselves, they create some sort of persona. It just doesn't work with most people. Ortiz has always been a nice, likable guy and he should have stuck to that as it would have helped market the fight, but I get the impression he doesn't really know how to handle the occasion and is already showing signs of the pressure. As for Floyd...well, Floyd's Floyd. He'll always be an annoying ****. There's nothing to like about his personalty. I respect him as a fighter but I'd find him absolutely impossible in person. I don't get the impression that there's a single redeeming quality. He's not funny, he's not charming, he's not intelligent, he's not sophisticated. He has nothing but money and as much as I dislike him, I hate his hangers on even more because they convince him that he is funny, charming, intelligent and sophisticated. It's just awful to watch. I don't want to see two millionaires talk about money like it's nothing. It's off putting. I want to see Mayweather lose but I won't pay for this because I don't particularly want Ortiz to win either. It's just boring nonsense that I couldn't care less about.
24/7 isn't really for the type of fans that would go on boxing forums like us. It's for the casual fans, who will think all this is exciting
