I saw the headbutt, but even there in slow motion I believe you are reaching a bit. Berto's head did slam into Zaveck's face but didn't slam into his eye. At most that was a brush. Zavec took a lot of hooks on that eye over the 5 rounds and there was a ton of redness and swelling before the cut. Personally, I can't wait for the rematch! I thouroughly enjoyed the fight.

I think that Zavek should be declared the winner because of the head butting and the malfeasence of the referee, or at the very least the fight declared no contest, or at the very very very least an immediate rematch ordered.

This is the most ridiculous argument I've ever had here. Clinching and holding is illegal or else the ref wouldn't make boxers stop doing it when they do.

Berto threw several headbutts in the fight, all in all he fought dirty, showed no head movement or footwork and was very hittable. Berto looked horrible, he is a level B fighter and nothing more.

That does look somewhat deliberate. Even if it went to the cards, Berto was up 3-2.

As for everyone calling out Ward, Bradley, and Berto; how can they help it if they are applying fast inside pressure and their opponents time and time again can't fight them off and just wilt under the pressure, leaving their defenseless heads straight in the way of oncoming punches/forward head movement. These guys don't have devastating KO power, so of course they are going to work over their opponents. The headbutts only seem to happen and be an issue when Hopkins/Ward/Bradley are dominating a fight/about to take it over (not the case with Berto here). You've got a problem with headbutts? Do something about it like Ward did. Watch when he fought Bika early to find the answer to preventing headbutts. Keep your hands up and use the one remote to your opponent as a shield. It's called defense.

Come on. Thats like saying why not allow low blows if the opponent just lets them happen. Ridiculous.

Wow, I just watched the fight again moments ago. I had it 3-2 after the 5th round for Berto. The cuts (there were 2) were from punches, not butts... and ****.. it was a clean ****ing brawl.. not a dirty fight in the slightest.

That butt from the gif was caused from Berto keeping his head low and Zaveck hooking around the side of Berto's head pulling him forward.. and it did land, but nothing special.

The Berto hate is old, don't you guys have Floyd Mayweather hate threads to be posting in now?

I don;t like Berto but I agree he didn't seem to be fighting intentionally dirty.

I don't get the Berto hate, why do boxing fans hate every fighter who get's some hype. It's not Berto's fault he isn't as good as his promoters and HBO wish he was.. but dude has had some fantastic fights to watch.

I mean, isn't that why we watch the sport.. to see the fights?

Personally, I'm just not a big fan. I think hes actually an exceptionally boring fighter who at times gets forced into exciting brawls. Like with Collazo and Ortiz.

I think if you took away his hand speed, hes really got nothing. His defense is garbage and hes not even that great offensively.

Considering the butt hit him on the jaw and the cut was above the eye. this thread is pointless.
