Well, I would rather like to see him take on Hopkins and Tarver. I guarantee you he will get those fights after he has a title (which he will when beating Huck)

Well it all depends on how faded Toney is and how he'll come back after losing all that weight. He clearly is a superior fighter and would beat this guy in his ok days, but now........ I want him to win and then set up a fight with Hopkins. But i feel it'll be too late :(

I saw a recent picture of Toney, he looks terrific (relatively speaking). You have to wonder ofcourse how much it's gonna matter at age 42 with all the wear and tear that's on him, plus he hasn't been active at all the last few years. But a fighter training hard and getting in shape is always a good thing obviously.

As for Lebedev, i thought he beat Huck, but he didn't quite look like a million bucks against a 42-year old Roy Jones who was throwing 20-25 punches a round.

If the same Lebedev shows up to fight Toney, James could win and it would open up a whole lot of opportunities for him.

Lebedev looked complete **** against RJJ. He is a joke and Toney will humiliate him.

There's one thing wanting it and another thing it happening. I really want Toney to win but that guy has abused his body too much, and god knows how he'll be like after losing so much weight. Its just a shame seeing ATGs beaten by dudes like Lebedev!!!! At least Bhop is keeping things alive.

If Lebedev fights the way he fought Roy, Toney's gonna school him. Doesn't matter how old he is he's not nearly as shot as RJJ.

owch, toney doesn't have many more brain cells to lose! then again lebedev showed jones too much respect in his last fight, if he does the same with toney then it might bite him in the ass...

Perfect fight for Toney as a win would install him as WBO mandatory challenger for Huck (who is about to sign for a WBC/WBO unification match in October). Toney should go for a cw world title after Lebedev, challenge Hopkins/Tarver winner and then go for the WBA regular title before retiring for good. IMO Toney has a good shot to beat the somewhat limited Lebedev and Huck...

Punch drunk Toney becoming a crusier weight champ would just be surreal

Must fighters that come down in weight in their 40s rarely come down without losing something. Toney may look better, but I think his best fight weight may be 220 right now. Also, I dont think Toney has an iron chin, just an iron defense. I dont know if Lebedev has the tools to set up his big punches against Toney but if he does he could stop him. Even a shot RJJ has the kind of jerky movements that make it hard for a basic guy like Levedev with a lower ring iq. Tony wont be as hard to find imo because he is much smarter than Leb but not as quick on his feet as Roy or as awkward.

Toney has come very slowly down in weight over the last 3 months or so. He weighs like 210 pounds right now and is yet to start a training camp for another 2 months. So I think his best weight right now is around 200 pounds, at 220 pounds this guy ain't in top shape.

Even at this stage, Toney will beat Lebedev and Huck. He should then take on Hopkins and Tarver and then retire.

It is very possible though. He may be somewhat punch drunk, but he still has what it takes to beat straighforward plodders like Lebedev and Huck.

He may even beat Povetkin but I doubt Atlas will let that fight happen.

wow, toney is actually at cruiser now. I thought he weighed 250 or something, knew he was getting in shape but didnt figure he lost that much.
