So If Adamek's Too Small For Vitali, What Does That Make Byrd?

Byrd was experienced and had fought as a heavy plenty of times before. Being small is not just height, Mike Tyson was not small but he was shorter, much shorter. The thing is all about Adamek having faced guys like McBride and Grant, exception made to Arreola, he is not definitely prepared for the heavy leather he's gonna take from Vitali. Remember another cruiser in Juan Carlos Gomez, the fella barely could connect on Vitali and was taking shots up and down... And Gomez has gone through the heavyweight system much before with guys such as Virchis, Oliver McCall and plenty of others, he had just one defeat up until the Vitali fight just like Tomasz. Adamek is not definitely prepared and he's gonna take a beating in front of his homecrowd.

Byrd was small, but Byrd was a superior boxer to Adamek and both of the Klits.

In fighting Byrd, as usual, the Klit's major advantage was, their size. Had Byrd been 6'4"/220. he'd be HW champion, for sure.

Thread doesn't make sense to me, because it is based on a smaller fighter beating Vitali when Vitali had a bad injury, thats why he won. You can say it doesn't matter, but it does, because he was losing, and would have lost.

You can't bank on another injury for Adamek to win, so being the shorter fighter and beating Vitali is a little void?

Vitali beats Byrd 9/10, so I don't know what point you're trying to make.

Its really sad. Every time they pick who ever it is the k bros are fighting and they ride the hype all the way till the first hard right lands then it becomes a sea of crying little kids whining things like "all they do is punch!" "Thye're too tall!" "They stay in shape!" Its just not fair!

    ****ing idiots

Byrd being small was not what saved him. He just happened to be in the ring with Vitali on the night that he damaged his shoulder.

If Vitali had not suffered that injury then Byrd would have continued to lose every round before Vitali stopped him in the later rounds.

I suspect Adamek is a significantly better fighter than Byrd was at his best. Byrd got a lot of gift decisions during his reign [Golota and McCline spring to mind] due to the helpful influence of Don King.

I have bet a bottle of Polish Vodka with three different Polish guys on the outcome of this fight, they are convinced their man is going to do it. Much like I was convinced that Haye would beat Wlad.........

Byrd took 4/9 rounds on my card, but Vitali had a injured left hand.

Plus Byrd was a lot more skillful than Adamek, particularly in speed, reflexes & defense.

Some good points, except one thing. Adamek is at least a level above Gomez.
