but to be fair clinching is part of the game, and he didn't really do it that much during the rahman fight, rahman did more clinching

same as the second peters fight.. peters did more clinching then wlad did

Rahman came into that fight with no intention of winning, several reporters made note of it too.

Well excessive holding isn't seen as cheating nowadays. Plenty of fighters use it as a tactic, from slick fighters to brawlers. It's a shame, but that's the way it is.

Has it ever really been seen as cheating to the point where it wasn't there? I know it's on the books, but I've seen fights from every decade since the 1910's that are damn near unwatchable due to the amount of holding.

Watch Lewis vs. Tyson. Lewis hold much more than Wlad.

Holding is a part of boxing.

Rahman cheated his way to that match so it served him right.

Besides I don’t remember him slipping a jab. He was just trying to out jab Wlad and in later rounds he tried to imitate Toney in the ropes and got destroyed for his efforts.

JT made him quit in three rounds and should have got that change.

The only knockout involving Rahman that boxing fans will talk about in 25 years is the thundering 1-2 combo that Lennox landed on The Rock, sending him to sleep for 45 seconds.

Rahman ain't the brightest bulb in the box. He blew his chance at financial security by being a complete moron. Remember this is the guy who turned down HBO's $20 + million for a rematch with Lewis, with another $10 + million for an HBO fight after the Lewis rematch, win, lose or draw.

This is the same guy that received a beat down TWICE from Oleg M.

What about all the elbows and kidney shots on James Toney? Not to mentioned the punches to the back of the head against both Toney and Lewis?

Rahman is a punk, and Wladimir schooled him and took him out with ease.

Now hold on for a second. Rahman had a couple of more fights involving one punch KOs. Difference is he was the one getting KO buy one punch, being the first Oleg M. fight and the 2nd Lewis fight.

And don't forget that 2nd head he grew during the Holyfield fight.

Will all the heavyweight champs that didn't routinely cheat with some illegal tactic they nearly always got away with please step forward. Not so fast, Holyfield, Holmes, Ali, Foreman, Lewis, Johnson, Marciano, Tyson, Ruiz, Bowe...etc.

If he gets back into some resonable shape I wouldn´t mind him getting another meaningful fight.. Helenius or someone could be fun.
