So there we have it. Now it is Kessler's word against Interbox. I hope that people now realize that it is nigh impossible to guess at what's right and wrong in boxing and making ridicolous claims on the basis of promotors or fighters saying random **** just to please the fans. Please note that I'm not saying that Kessler's words are true, but I don't trust Interbox either! JENNA: Okay now the fight with Robert Stieglitz came together because a potential fight with Lucian Bute, for whatever reason, did not. Can you tell the fans out there a little bit about the reasons why you guys chose Robert Stieglitz instead of Lucian Bute? KESSLER: Yes, Lucian Bute gave us an offer that was like he was saying no to fight me. That was the main problem. I was over there watching his fight and I was ready for the fight, but of course you cannot fight for free if you know what I mean. So that was a big problem about that, so I was lucky to fight Robert Stieglitz after. I am very happy about that. JENNA: A lot of fans have debated whether or not they gave you a legit offer and some people have rumored that you were offered $3 million. Was there any truth to that? KESSLER: (laughs) No, not at all! I wish it was true! But we were far, far away from that amount. That was a big problem. It was like he was saying no to fight me if you understand what I mean. So I want the fans to know that I’m not afraid of Lucian Bute! Nobody wants to fight for free. I’m really ready to fight for the big belt. I know I’m not a champion any more right now, and you can claim a lot money for that, so I’d be ready for less money but the offer we got was very bad. Because Kessler would have said it ? This was the first offer to begain the negociation , you don't start an negociation with your best offer .
because Lucy made clear he doesn´t want to fight, not even in Montreal under his own rules of boxing and with his personal bodyguard acting as referee. why waste time with that fraudulent ducker disgrace? Kessler is no spring chicken that can wait a couple of years until Lucy grows a pair of balls..
Sometimes the first offer is such a insult that there is no need to even entertain giving them a counter. The I see it is that they were expecting fair treatment, and then they see a bull**** offer and say to themself "screw this....I'm not going to be their *****. I was a champion before my injury....I never lost my belt....and I get this insult to open things up? **** them! I'm going to win a belt and ask for 50/50 once I do" He stated over and over that he believe the offer was so very bad that it made him think Bute's camp had no interest. The best move for Kessler was to take what will be a eaiser fight, for a title, and comeback to the table with it.
He's a cool dude Kessler. I can understand why people who have never met him expect the same bull**** from him as from the boxing world in general. But he genuinely is a nice (perhaps too nice) no nonsense kind of guy. I would take his word at face value (but I don't expect others to do this).
Or course KEssler's team wouldn't lie. It can only be BUte's fault...:yep And of course, it wouldn't make sense for Kessler's team to get a belt against a lesser champ...:tired Nah, it must be BUte'S team!
