For me this sounds like ****** and Morrison scared there going to lose there cash cow, not ricky being scared of broner. Broner is over rated in my opinion due to his first round ko in his last fight. He is a good fighter and may go on to to be great but right now ricky takes him.

Maybe they are worried ricky wont get the decision over there, so they dont think its worth the risk.

No mention of weight problems for his last 3 defences.

No mention on ringside last week.

This would embarassing if he vacates now. For what its worth I think he would beat Broner but obviously they don't.

I have mixed feelings about this.

    1. I have no doubt that if it was a Nicky Cook type opponent lined up he'd have no issue making the weight.

    2. Burns can beat Broner but he can't knock him out and as such would be robbed if fought him in the U.S. Ask Ponce De Leon. So in that regard, I can see why he doesn't fancy the job.

Bit of a misleading thread title to say the least. If it is true then I am disappointed in Burns and his team, because as someone else said, it's all to convenient that he suddenly can't make weight when he needs to defend against someone who isn't ****. That said though, there's nothing to say it is happening yet apart from these comments from that senile old **** Morrison, who 90% of the time talks total pish.

Clearly avoiding Broner. For those of you who think that he'll box Broner's head off.. Broner is pretty damn slick and an excellent counter puncher with solid power. No chance, Burns had a chance for a big fight and bottled it.

No he isn't. Not in the slightest. What fights of Broner have you been watching? Everyone's judgement seems to have been clouded by the fact he beat Litzau in a round. He's not slick, and he's certainly not an "excellent" counter-puncher.

He came up against an in-form Ponce De Leon, took De Leon's best shots then countered him down the stretch, showing a solid chin and ability to time aggressive powerful opponents.Beating Ponce De Leon is BETTER than any of Burns wins easily!

Mate, he's a black american. Pretty sure that makes him over qualified as a slick, athletic fighter.

let's wait till it is all official but if this is true his title 'reign' will be the worst of all time

He could beat broner as well, who is the archetypal hype job, a very homeless version of mayweather.
